Biography

Her bright brown eyes shine bright with her passion for acting, bewitching audiences from Korea to China. An actress whose performance makes people laugh and cry - For Star Focus in 2006, the vivacious Jang Seo-hee was our first guest!!

Across Asia, Jang's popularity has steadily grown, opening new doors of chance for her. She was invited to star in the Chinese TV drama, and the actress went to the mainland to participate in the international press conference.
The media gathered in close, trying not to miss a thing! The coverage had been "hot" since news of the drama was released.

"Miss Mermaid", the Korean TV drama that made Asia's audience fall in love with Jang Seo-hee. It's a production that could never be overlooked in her career.
She had worked tirelessly in the drama and her hard work was not in vain. It brought her recognition as one of Korea's most talented actresses.

After "Miss Mermaid", the offers continued to pour in. Jang challenged herself on television to the silver screen. She didn't have a moment to catch her breath.
In the film, "Ghost House", she joined Cha Seung-won and played an unusual role, once again enticing her audience.

It almost seems like she was shot to stardom overnight, but that is definitely NOT the case. Her perseverance and tenacity brought her successful results, and Jang Seo-hee is grateful for that. She shared some advice with her junior actors.

She debuted in 1989 as a fledgling actress and has retained determined aspirations to this day. Jang still clings to the passion she had during her years as a rookie, letting it help lead the way into her future.

Not only is this star big in dramas and film, she's sought after constantly by marketers, for commercials and various advertisements. Even beyond Korea! Fans adore her and we're sure her male fans are curious to hear about Jang Seo-hee's IDEAL MAN.

The support of her fans has allowed her to stand as a star and Jang makes sure to share as much time as she can with them. She was all smiles during her last autograph signing event, making eye contact with each individual.

Actress Jang Seo-hee has been named as honorary PR ambassador for the 2009 Gwangju Design Biennale (http://www.gb.or.kr). She received her appointment certificate on August 12 at the Gwangju Biennale Conference Room in Gwangju. In the photo she speaks to a group of journalists.

Actress Jang Seo-hee, who has been named PR ambassador for the 2009 Gwangju Design Biennale, pledged on August 12 to do her best to publicize the event in Korea and abroad. Receiving her appointment certificate at the conference room of the Gwangju Biennale Foundation, Jang said, "I already knew a lot about the Gwangju Design Biennale but I didn't have a chance to participate so far. I willingly accepted the offer to act as PR ambassador".

SBS perhaps could change its name to something that includes "swearing", as it leads a list of major broadcast networks exposed for their increasing use of bad language.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC), the country's watchdog for television, radio and Web content, said a jump in profanity was found on virtually every network in both the terrestrial and cable field.

Viewer complaints have also been rising, it said.

Of the 158 complaints submitted to the commission in March, about 70 percent of them were about programs from national networks. There were 17 complaints regarding language standards, the commission said, up from six complaints in the previous month.

Many of the viewer complaints were arrowed toward "Temptation of Wife", the immensely popular SBS miniseries starring Jang Seo-hee that allegedly set new highs for Korean television entertainment, or new lows, depending on who one asks.

Revenge-themed drama "The Temptation of Wife" has made its heroine Jang Seo-hee a huge star in Mongolia. A story about a wife, who returns from the dead to avenge her cheating husband and his lover, "Temptation of Wife" (a.k.a. Wife's Revenge) has topped 80% in drama rating since it was aired by a Mongolian TV station. A close associate of Jang said that she has been invited by Korean businessmen in Mongolia to visit the country to boost their morale and meet her Mongolian fans.

Immensely popular "Temptation of Wife" has reignited the Korean pop culture wave, or Hallyu, in Mongolia. "Jewel in the Palace" ("Dae Jang Geum") made Lee Young-ae a household name in Mongolia a few years back, and now Jang is enjoying the same privilege.
