Matchmaking programs are famous for being the birthplace of many stars. Entertainer hopefuls catch the eyes of viewers and management companies as they work with other stars and reveal their talents.

There are many stars who have used programs such as KBS "War of Roses", MBC "Kang Ho-dong's ChunSengYunBun", and SBS "X-Man" as stepping stones to debut as actors.

Korean Stars Sing to Deliver Message of Hope to Quake Victims

Some 30 popular celebrities, including singers, actors, comedians and sports stars, sang together at a studio in Samseongdong, Seoul on May 29.

The 30 stars, all dressed in a white T-shirt with the slogan 'I Love Asia', took part in a project jointly put together by Jackie Chan and Park Jin-young to help the victims of the earthquake victims in China. Renowned film director Kang Je-gyu, the executive producer of the video shoot, was not able to attend due to personal matters overseas.

The 30 stars included figure skater Kim Yuna, actors Kim Ah-joong, Park Yong-ha, Han Hye-jin, Yoo Seung-ho and Jeon Hye-bin, and singers Ku Jun-yeop, Jo Sung-mo, Chae Yeon, Kim Dong-wan, Kan Mi-yeon, Alex, Horan, Joo, Wonder Girls, Brown-Eyed Girls and Battle. They all sang and recorded 'I Love Asia' composed by Park Jin-young.

The project was organized to help the quake victims as well as to express hope that Asia will unite to help all those in need in times of crisis.

Stars to Come Out for Hallyuwood Start Festival

A star-studded event is planned for the Hallyuwood Start Festival, which celebrates the groundbreaking of Hallyuwood in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The festival is to be held on May 29th and some 20 entertainers are invited to mark the meaningful event.

The celebrities who will attend the festival include Kim Yoon-jin of American hit TV series "Lost". actor Kim Rae-won, actresses Kim Hee-ae and Kim Ah-joong, and singer Jeon Hye-bin. Hong Kong comic action star Jackie Chan will also come to the festival to receive the commission for Hallyuwood publicity ambassador. The festival plans to feature a red carpet parade of stars, designer Lee Sang-bong's fashion show, and a commissioning ceremony for honorary publicity ambassadors.

'Wet Dreams 2' delivers false teenage fantasy

It is an unwritten rule that sequels rarely outperform their originals in the movie industry. Higher expectations - and a slightly skeptical attitude - may explain why sequels are often synonymous with flops (I've seen it all in the original, so what else can you do with this sequel?).
"Wet Dreams 2", which opens today nationwide, falls into the sorry category. But before brushing it aside quickly, it is worth pondering what this supposedly "provocative sex comedy" is about and what issues, if any, it puts forward.

Directed by Jeong Cho-sin, the film revolves around sexual fantasy and episodes played out by 17-year-old high school girls. The background is set in 1991, Chung said in a post-premier news conference, suggesting that girls might sport a whiff of innocence.

Our "innocent" heroine Oh Sung-eun (Kang Eun-bi) and her close friends Bang Sue-yeon (Jeon Hye-bin) and Kim Mi-sook (Park Seul-gi) are hanging around together, dreaming about their Prince Charmings.
