Lead actors of popular local epic drama will visit Pyongyang around the middle of the month. They plan to visit the part of the original territory of the ancient Korean kingdom of Koguryo (37 B.C.-668), which the drama dealt with.

MBC's historical piece "Jumong", a story about the founding myth of Koguryo (37 B.C.-668), Korea's ancient kingdom, ended its year-log run Tuesday, after recording a huge viewer rating of more than 50 percent.

To commemorate the success, main actors including Song Il-gook, Han Hye-jin and Jeon Kwang-ryeol and program director Lee Joo-hwan along with other staff members will visit Pyongyang where cultural assets and historical sites of the ancient kingdom remain.

The ancient kingdom had the largest territory in the Korean history, extending as far as what is now Jilin province in northeastern China from its capital Pyongyang.
