Animation 'Oseam' was selected as the best feature animation from the Annecy International Animation Festival that ended on June 12. It received Cristal d'Annecy 2004.
This is the second time that a Korean animation was awarded with Cristal d'Annecy; the first was to Marie's Story in 2002. Park Se-jong's Birthday Boys received Jean-Luc Xiberas award for a first film in the short film category.
Oseam is a heart-warming story of a five-year-old boy Gil-son and his blind sister Gami. It is based on a children's story by Jeong Chae-bong, and the animation was first screened in April 2003. Even though it failed in attracting many audiences to theatres, it received outstanding reviews from those who watched it.
