If you're a guy hitting the gym hoping to develop bulging biceps and six-pack abs, you're behind the times.

Perhaps you might want to peek at the television just once while you're doing your arm curls and see all those "lean and mean" television stars.

Slender is now the ideal body type for men. Trainer Yoon Hyung-min, from the Marriott Hotel's fitness center in Yeouido, Seoul, said men have been trying to slim down for some time.

"Before, about 80 percent of people who came here wanted to get muscular", he said. "But these days, seven out of 10 say they want a slimmer body".

The 23-year-old actor Jeong Dong-jin is among several entertainers joining the fray. Once clad in muscle, Jeong has cut down his body fat, a transformation that his personal trainer Byun Geon-woo said was due to a "hard-core" diet.

"Now men go on a diet with just as much vigor as women", Byun said.

Andre Kim's Fall Fashion at Songdo

Korea's top designer Andre Kim presented his fall and winter fashion collection in a fashion show commemorating the grand opening of the convention and exhibition hall, Songdo Convensia, in Songdo, Incheon.

Leading actress Han Chae-young and young actor Jeong Dong-jin walked the runway wearing Kim's signature designs. Han, dubbed as Korea's "Barbie doll" for her tall and curvaceous figure, looked stunning as always as she wore Kim's elaborate evening gowns.

The fashion show featured the entire range of Kim's designs in vibrant colors, from fur-trimmed coats and black-and-white suit dresses to slinky exotic dresses and voluminous embroidered robes.

Prominent members of the diplomatic community also participated in the fashion show, including New Zealand Ambassador Jane Coombs, El Salvador Ambassador Zoila Aguirre De May and Netherlands Ambassador Hans Heinsbroek.

Korean Fashion Meets Fantasy of Angkor Wat

SIEM REAP, Cambodia _ A top-class Korean designer dazzled Cambodian dignitaries and citizens as well as Korean residents here with a fantasy-filled fashion show staged at a world-famous stone temple Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Andre Kim's fashion show, which took place to highlight the ongoing Angkor-Gyeongju (Kyongju) World Culture Expo in this small Cambodian city, featured top Korean celebrities riding high on the Korean wave, such as actress Kim Hee-seon and actor Kim Rae-won, as models.

Rising stars, including Lee Ki-woo and Jeong Dong-jin, took part in the show on a catwalk set against the background of the colorfully illuminated Angkor Wat, a cultural heritage site dating back to the early 12th century. It is considered one of the seven wonders in the world.

The Expo, co-organized by the Korean and Cambodian governments, started on Nov. 21 and will continue through Jan. 9.
