[HanCinema's Film Review] "For Eternal Hearts" + DVD Giveaway 2016/03/12,
In 1979 Soo-yeong (played by Jeong Kyeong-ho) is a student going to university in South Korea. Not very much appears to be happening save for the occasional demonstration (violent or otherwise) to which Soo-yeong is paying very little attention. After a few conversations wherein Soo-yeong's general indifference to anything is discussed, Soo-yeong slowly meets other people and becomes aware of the fact that something isn't quite right at the university. But what?,...More
[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Drama Special - Fickle Minded" 2014/02/23,
Goong-sang (played by Kim C) is a man in his forties. That's pretty much his entire conflict. Consequently "Drama Special - Fickle Minded" can be a bit difficult to really grasp as a narrative. There's not really anything in here that could be called a romance even though ostensibly Goong-sang's main conflict is that he's in his forties and still alone. A peculiar funeral visit doesn't really do much to significantly change that.
Which is kind of odd, considering that the situation which plays out bears an astonishing similarity to, well, most romantic comedy storylines really,...More

KBS variety show "Two Night and One Days" is aimed at visiting the South Pole for a shoot in March, according to the show's producer on Tuesday.
"We haven't set a detailed schedule yet but are laying out our plans with March in mind", Na Young-suk told Asia Economic Daily over the phone.

Eom Tae-woong's Song Picks 2010/01/07, Source,
Korean actor EomEom Tae-woong [Chae Ki-won/10Asia]
Of the many actors who suddenly become unreachable superstars or who have a hard time getting out of their own characters, Eom Tae-woong is someone who has quietly walked his own path. After many years as a struggling actor, he played a dying man faced with a death sentence in KBS TV series "Drama City", which led to his role as a fantastic villain who was impossible to hate in "Sassy Girl, Chun-hyang". And after shooting "Revnege" and "Devil", in which he expressed a soul conflicted between the good and bad, between sin and punishment, he gained the nickname "the Eom force". His roles -- a free-spirited young man who falls in love with a woman twenty years his senior in the film "Family Ties", a cold elite coach for the National Women's Handball Team in "Forever the Moment", and a celebrity manager who is driven to the extreme in "Hand Phone" -- are so various and full of effort that one cannot easily make presumptions about him.
This year, he lived as Kim Yoo-shin in MBC TV series "Queen Seon-deok", a character which is most befitting for an actor like him. In describing this great general who helped Queen Seon-deok achieve unification of three countries, Eom says, "I can't say that my character is portraying the real General Kim Yoo-shin but I think this man was truly a "big man". He may seem brusque to women and inconsiderate to the general public, but he tried hard and went through agony to attain a big goal rather than a small one". His character was not allowed to show his emotions in the drama, but he recently expressed Yooshin's longing for Deok-man by singing a song called "Only One Person" for a special soundtrack for "Queen Seon-deok".,...More

In the entertainment industry, the end of a year is a season about watching and talking about "people". Many media outlets select their "person of the year" and people flock to year-end awards shows to hear a quote from stars that they do not get to see often. 10Asia picked our own figures of the year, but there is no red carpet or photo spotlights for the stars to enter upon. Our selection of "persons of 2009" are not top stars who attained the most popularity from the public, but people who changed the landscape of Korea's entertainment industry and stimulated the public with experiences that we had not had before.
