Korean Stars Sing to Deliver Message of Hope to Quake Victims

Some 30 popular celebrities, including singers, actors, comedians and sports stars, sang together at a studio in Samseongdong, Seoul on May 29.

The 30 stars, all dressed in a white T-shirt with the slogan 'I Love Asia', took part in a project jointly put together by Jackie Chan and Park Jin-young to help the victims of the earthquake victims in China. Renowned film director Kang Je-gyu, the executive producer of the video shoot, was not able to attend due to personal matters overseas.

The 30 stars included figure skater Kim Yuna, actors Kim Ah-joong, Park Yong-ha, Han Hye-jin, Yoo Seung-ho and Jeon Hye-bin, and singers Ku Jun-yeop, Jo Sung-mo, Chae Yeon, Kim Dong-wan, Kan Mi-yeon, Alex, Horan, Joo, Wonder Girls, Brown-Eyed Girls and Battle. They all sang and recorded 'I Love Asia' composed by Park Jin-young.

The project was organized to help the quake victims as well as to express hope that Asia will unite to help all those in need in times of crisis.

Stars Come Together for Earthquake Victims

Korean stars have come together to help out the victims of a devastating earthquake in China. Celebrities who joined the recording of "I Love Asia", a joint earthquake relief project, at a studio in southern Seoul included singer/producer Park Jin-young, Wonder Girls, Kim Dong-wan of Shinhwa, SHINee, Horan and Alex from Clazziquai, Brown Eyed Girls, skating champion Kim Yu-na, actress Kim Ah-joong, actor Park Yong-ha, and Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan.

Conducted behind closed doors, the recording of the song "I Love Asia" was led by Park Jin-young. The song was written and composed by Park himself and contains a message of hope for Chinese earthquake victims as well as all Asians. All the proceeds from the project album will be donated to the people of Sichuan Province.

Talented stars have been popular since high school. It is obvious that stars would graduate from art schools, such as Anyang Art High School, where "Rain", Se7en, Park Han-byeol graduated from, and Kaywon Art High School, where Hwang Jeong-min, Kim Ji-soo, and Jo Seung-woo graduated from. But there are also many stars who come from regular schools.

Suhmoon High School is the most prominent. Some graduates are Lee Hyo-lee, Han Ji-min of "Yi San", super model/actress Lee Hwa-seon, actress Park So-eun, and singer Lee So-eun. Lee Hyo-lee was popular with the guy students for her beauty and Han Ji-min received casting requests. Lee Seung-yeon, Jeong Kyeong-soon, and Oh Jee-hye are also alumni. Fans Give Shinhwa Members Surprise Gift

'Shinhwa Must Go On 10th Anniversary Live', a special concert marking the 10th anniversary of Shinhwa's debut, was held at the Fencing Stadium at the Seoul Olympic Park.

After the three-and-an-half-hour performance, including encore numbers, Shinhwa members got ready to step off the stage when a large screen installed on the stage began showing a video interview of close friends of Shinhwa who had shared the ups and downs with the members during the past ten years.

Shinhwa members, who were completely taken off-guard by the surprise video screening, sat on the stage and watched the video. Deeply touched by the words of their closest friends, members openly shed tears.

The group was then presented with a cake with a single candle in the shape of the number ten. Fans and Shinhwa, all moved to tears, sang 'happy birthday' together.
