Popular stars including Park Jin-hee, Yoo Joon-sang, Kim Kang-woo, Han Jeong-soo, Kim Hye-seong and Kim Hye-na got involved in cleaning work in Taean oil spilt area.

Also casts of SBS program "Line Up" such as Lee Kyung-gyu visited Taean last week, involved in cleaning work in the area. When the program was broadcasted, it received overwhelming responses from netizens and viewers.

The posting board of this year's most popular entertainment program, "Muhan Dojeon" is being flooded with requests from netizens to send the casts to Taean area for volunteer clean-up. They suggest that the number of volunteers will increase if the casts of "Muhan Dojeon", including Yoo Jae-seok, Park Myeong-soo, Jung Hyeong-don and Haha volunteers to be involved in the clean-up.

This collection is the second in a series that puts together ten short Korean animations that have won international awards since 2001. Included are "I Need Daddy" which won the Hiroshima Award at the Hiroshima Animation Festival. It's about a family made up of a novelist father who is a wolf and a girl. The father can't decide whether to focus on producing a novel or rearing his daughter; "Jungle" delves into various episodes that happen to a young man in one day. Another film deals with a story of a lonely child and a widow. The collection includes interviews with the directors.

Nine days of international films will make North Jeolla Province a focal point for cinema lovers when the Jeonju International Film Festival starts on April 27 and May 5.

This years JIFF, the seventh, will introduce 194 feature films and shorts from 42 countries. The opening film is "Offside" by Jafar Panahi from Iran, which tells the story of girls who secretly enter a men-only football stadium, disguised as men because they want to see the beautiful game. "The movie offers an interesting perspective on women in the Muslim world, where sports are off-limits to them", says festival programmer Yu Wun-seong.

The closing film will be "Don't Look Back" by Kim Yeong-nam, who garnered attention with his short "I Can Fly to You But You…" His feature, "Don't Look Back" focuses on three 20-somethings trying to come to grips with new uncertainties. Japan's broadcaster NHK awarded "The Asian Filmmaker of the year" at "The 10th Pusan International Film Festival" holds "The 6th NHK Asian Film Festival" biennially in Tokyo Shibuya NHK Hall from 17th to 25th Dec.

NHK Asian Film Festival started to commemorate the 100th anniversary of film birth with international co-producing works in 1995. NHK has supported talented filmmakers and productions in the world and 22 pieces from 18 countries were completed and presented to the public.

This time total 25 films including the previous project supported works and this year's new three pieces will be focused on. The movie "Don't Look Back" (Production Emotion Pictures) directed by Kim Yeong-nam from the production team of Hong Sang-soo's "Woman Is The Future Of Man" is included as well.

As director Kim Seong-ho's horror film 'Into the mirror' is invited to the 23rd Fajr International Film Festival to be opened on Jan. 31 in Teheran, Iran, interest in Korean films in the Middel East countries is expected.

Movie 'Into the mirror' is screened in the 'Spiritual Cinema', a competition part to which a total of 13 films are invited.

Into the Mirror, supported by the New Directors in Focus program at the Pusan Film Festival in its early development stage, is an intriguing debut film by Kim Seong-ho, a former architect whose deft manipulation of the spatial and optic dimensions of the film results in its unique and memorable look and atmosphere, overlaid with a layer of modernist austerity.
