Biography
KIM was born in 1967 in Jeonju, Korea. He graduated from Hanyang University where he developed a special interest in films. He won the first prize in the Korean Film Council Script Contest in 1997 with the screenplay “The Good Friends”. In 1998, he completed a screenplay entitled “Loving Life and Death”, which was filmed later in the same year. He also wrote for the Internet movie, “I’m OK”. Another script entitled “Soulmate” is completed and now is being produced. Beginning in December 2000, KIM wrote a series of articles called “Gore Mania” and “Kim Ji-Hwan’s forbidden DVDs” in one of the Korean film magazines, Film 2.0. Through these articles, he built a strong fan base. Although he stopped publishing articles in 2004, he still is recognized as a leading horror film expert. < Untold Story: The Red Forest > is his directorial debut film.
