On 31th 'All that Cinema' said "up to 30th total of 5,003,326 audiences record, breaking 's Korean animation record. For second place (400,000) and third place is (350,000).

The first weekend after release of movie 277,550 audiences saw the film, it is getting really popular and it is still on screen. We expect number of audience will go up.

Cause of popularity of Korea Culture & Content Agency' (KOCCA, General Manager: Kim Jin Kyu) said now those people who works for animation industry can find the worth of their sweat and passion". And including all of Korean animation can have hope.

CEO (Shin Chul) of 'Robot Taekwon V Company' was fighting with disintegration 10years ago and said "If Korea Animation can read the audience's mind like a Korean movie its market can reach 10,000,000 audiences.

The answer isn't that the three have strange-colored skin or walk around in their underwear (which they do) but that they all started as comic book stars who eventually moved to movies and video games.
Although for a long time comic books have been a source for movies in the West, they haven't been made into movies here in Korea, despite Korea's prominent comic book culture.
In the past few years, however, more comic books have been incorporated into online games, creating a new relationship between the two genres and a whole new industry. But development of comic books into online games in Korea is slightly different from how video games are developed in the United States.

January 29, 2005 ㅡ A new film about Park Chung Hee is adding fuel to the ongoing controversy over the former president and his authoritarian rule.
A preview of "Geuttae Geusaramdeul" (The President's Last Bang) was held on Monday for an audience that included politicians and filmmakers.
Supporters of Mr. Park have blasted the film's portrayal of the former president and his assassination, and the movie is expected to create further political and social discord in a country where his rule from 1961 to 1979 remains a sensitive issue.
MK Pictures, the producer, plans to release the film on Thursday, but an ongoing legal battle makes it unclear whether it will ever be seen by the public.
Park Ji-man, the former president's son, is seeking an injunction against the film's distribution; the court said it would announce a decision on Tuesday.

Two domestic blockbusters, both dealing with the division of the Korean Peninsula, are breaking box-office records and uncovering new possibilities for the local market.
After reaching 8.27 million viewers to break the all-time attendance record Jan. 31, "Silmido" is continuing to rewrite the record books by racing past 9 million viewers, its distributor Cinema Service said Saturday.
The tally stood at 9.01 million viewers as of Friday, which marks 45 days since the film hit theaters on Christmas Eve last year. Although the film is now facing its seventh week of release, it is still adding about 100,000 viewers a day and may soon open "the era of 10 million viewers" here.
"Silmido", starring Sol Kyung-gu and Ahn Sung-gi, is based on a true story of a secret government project to deploy commandos to Pyongyang to assassinate Kim Il-sung.

It is said that the history of Korean cinema can be divided into before "Shiri" and after "Shiri", a testament to the significance of the 1999 blockbuster that opened an era of big-budget, high-grossing spectacles in Korea.
If Kang Je-gyu, the man behind "Shiri", has his way, Korean cinema will be divided into before "Taegukgi" and after "Taegukgi" from now on. The hugely ambitious Korean War epic will finally be unveiled at theaters across the nation today, seeking nothing less than to write the next chapter in the development of Korean cinema.

"Taegukgi" was breaking records even as it was in production. The film is the most expensive ever made in Korea with a colossal budget of nearly 15 billion won. Shooting took place in 18 locations with 25,000 extras and marvelous sets of the streets of Seoul and Pyongyang in 1950. The film will open on 430 screens around the nation, another record.
