TV series "Master of Study" was never a well-made drama, not even at the end. Out of respect to its target viewers perhaps, the story may have been overly one-dimensional and moved forward without creating much trouble, but it created occasional moments of boredom and the students' teacher and heroic human rights lawyer Kang Seok-ho (played by Kim Soo-ro) ended up remaining on a predictable path. KBS TV series "Master of Study" ended its run with a bang yesterday, scoring the highest ratings the show has ever seen during its two-month airing.

KBS2 TV series "Master of Study" has topped the television ratings chart in its time slot this week, according to daily statistics released by research firms TNS Media Korea and AGB Nielsen Media Research.

TNS reported that the Monday and Tuesday evening drama scored national viewership ratings of 24.7 (on Feb. 16) and 21.3 percent, respectively, on each of its episode this week....More

"First place, Bong-goo. Second, Hyun-jung. Third, Chan-doo. Mmm, how about these two? Last place is likely to go to Pul-ip". This is not the time where mid-term report cards are being handed out. As the crew organize the desks and finish prepping to shoot a new scene at the Su-won set of KBS TV series "Master of Study", the students in a special class of Cheonha University start to take their seats, one by one. Director Yoo Hyeon-gi ranks the students by their order of entrance but he does not scold them severly like [main character] Kang  Seok-ho does. Director Yoo Hyeon-gi simply blinks his eyes when, to his surprise, Ko Ah-seong comes in first, followed by Yoo Seung-ho who is wearing only a T-shirt. "Why did you take off your clothes? Did you work out? You are in shock from filming the scene where you did a hand-stand, huh?" When Yoo Seung-ho -- who cannot help panting after doing shoulder exercises in the classroom next door -- responds by giving the director a grin, Lee Hyun-woo grins, Jiyeon grins, Ko Ah-seong grins and Lee Chan-ho grins as well.
