Middle-aged actress Kim Hae-sook will be the main character of "Viva! Love". This is her first main role in 33 years.

Her motherly image changed drastically when she came out as a pickpocket in last year's movie "Open City" and now, she will have a romance with a man 23 years younger than her.

This is a comedy telling of the romance between Bong-soon (Kim Hae-sook) and a 21-year-old man. There is interest in Kim Hae-sook's character, who falls in love with her daughter's boyfriend.

She has lived her life as a mother and a wife, but she meets her true love, who will be played by Kim Yeong-min. Kim Yeong-min has been in plays, "Hamlet", "Bad Magnet", "Rising Lovely Girl", and movies "My Right to Ravage Myself", "A Cruel Attendance", and "Ad-Lib Night".

TV sitcom star swaps romance for current affairs

At age 62, actor Noh Joo-hyeon is heading for a new start ― he is appearing on SBS TV's live news show "Morning Wide", which airs every morning from 6 to 8:30 a.m.
No is in charge of a new feature called "Human Plus", which explores current affairs from a human interest angle.
The veteran actor's job is to comment on issues of the day and add his thoughts to the debates. His first show kicked off last Monday with a tale of a herbalist and his family who live in a hanok, a traditional Korean house, in the city of Daejeon, which is about two hours from Seoul by train.
Hosting the slot on Morning Wide marks a change of direction for the seasoned thespian. Since his acting debut in 1970, No has usually been cast as a courteous gentleman and from time to time as comic characters.

BoA to Receive Comtemporary Artist Award

Singer BoA will receive the 'Young Contemporary Artist Award' (Minister's Award) from the Ministry Culture and Tourism. Meanwhile, actress Goh Doo-shim and actor Kim Sung-hwan will receive the Okgwan Cultural Medal of Honor and the Hwagwan Cultural Medal of Honor, respectively.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently selected and announced the recipients for the 2007 Cultural Medal of Honor as well as the 2007 Young Contemporary Artist Award.

BoA, the recipient of this year's young contemporary artist award, which goes out to artists in their 20s and 30s, is being recognized by the government for her accomplishments in both South Korea and Japan.

Ko Doo-sim and Kim Sung-hwan will be awarded for their long-term contributions to the popular arts sector.

Lee Jong-won, Sin-ae to appear in China-Korea joint production drama series

Actor Lee Jong-won and actress Sin-ae will appear on Chinese television through the China-Korea joint production "Miro" ("Maze").

"Miro (Maze)" is a traditional melodrama produced by Korea's Samhwa Networks whose library includes "My Man's Woman" and "Golden Era of Daughter in Law" along with China's largest media company SMG (Shanghai Media Group). The series is a remake of the 1992 "Husband's Woman" starring Ko Doo-sim and Noh Joo-hyeon.

Lee Jong-won and Chinese actress Tao Ho Min play a married couple while Sin-ae plays the role of the woman who falls in love with Lee Jong-won. The series is produced and directed by Jang Yong-woo of "Hotelier" and "Wangcho".

Samhwa Networks commented on the 25th, "'Miro (Maze)' which was completed last year will be aired at 7pm through the SMG drama channel in Shanghai. Ko Doo-sim brings rugged warmth

A daughter receives a box of kimchi a month after her mother dies of cancer. She stands aghast while reading the sender's name and realizes that it was the last present from her mother. The daughter, in speechless wonder, sheds tears in memory of her dedicated mother, who must have worried about the absence of kimchi on her daughter's dining table after she was gone.

The daughter shouts out in tears, "Mom, I'm sorry that I couldn't love you as much as you loved me".

The audience might understand, although it is the first scene of the drama, what kind of a mother figure the drama "My Mother" wants to depict. It is the mother who sacrifices her life to her daughter, and always feels sorry about being unable to financially support her child.
