Born in 1970. LEE graduated from Hanyang University majoring in film and theatre. He worked as an assistant director for < Love Story > (1996) and < My Heart > (1999) directed by veteran director BAE Chang-ho. LEE also wrote the screenplay for < The Garden of Heaven > (2003, directed by LEE Dong-hyun). LEE made his directorial debut with < Lover’s Concerto > (2002) and second film < Almost Love > (2006). By Lee Hyo-wonStaff Reporter Following the footsteps of "Radio Dayz", "Once Upon a Time" and "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" comes "Modern Boy", another purely entertainment-driven movie set during the Japanese colonial era (1910-45). Gyeongseong, the name of Seoul at the time, is home to flamboyant flappers (so-called "modern boys and girls"), radio stars and charming bandits who aren't necessarily working for Korea's independence. The symbolic power of cinema is extensive, as it often showcases a given country's aesthetics, technical achievements and entertainment factors, and moreover portrays to varying degrees its cultural, historical and social values. Period pieces in particular become the subject of scrutiny as they speak for the shared history of a people. Korean production company KM Culture has announced plans to make a sequel to the popular romantic comedy "200 Pounds Beauty".A script is currently being written by LEE Han I, the screenwriter responsible for the TV drama "Bodyguard". In the sequel, the main character Hanna once again gains weight and struggles to establish herself as a real singer. The director and main cast for the film have yet to be determined, although actress KIM Ah-joong has expressed an interest in seeing the completed script. The announcement is one in a long list of popular Korean films for which sequels are being planned. Production house Chungeorahm is readying a follow-up to Korea's box office record holder "The Host", with a script written by well-known comic writer Kang Pool and a planned budget exceeding $11 million. In the midst of sequels being planned for The War of Flower and Le Grand Chef, there is also a sequel being planned for '200 Pounds Beauty', which reached 6.62 million viewers last year.The producing group of the movie, KM Culture, has revealed that they are currently making a scenario due to overflowing requests from fans. Writer Lee Han I, who also wrote the drama "Bodyguard", starring Cha Seung-won, is writing the scenario. The main plot is that Hanna has "yo-yo syndrome". It is expected to contain events that happen to Hanna, who is gaining weight again after turning from a fat woman to a beauty with plastic surgery and dieting. Writer Lee has added, "The plan is that Hanna will gain weight again but will be recognized as a true singer. But we will add the element of comedy and will highlight the first movie, which was a comedy but had a message to society".
