[HanCinema's Film Review] "Cracked Eggs and Noodles" + DVD Giveaway 2017/01/14,
When we're first introduced to Dae-gyoo (played by Im Chang-jeong), the man is rather...uncouth. As in, Dae-gyoo is telling a woman about how the person he hates more than anyone else in the world is his father, as implicit justification for his handing over a small sum of money to be used for, well, presumably some sort of procedure that would prevent Dae-gyoo from becoming a father. Then he meets In-kwon (played by Lee In-seong), a generally obnoxious child who soon proves to be Dae-gyoo's nemesis as they travel Jeolla province, somewhat inconveniently, without a car,...More
[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Goddess Of Fire Jeongi" Episode 2 2013/07/08,
After sifting through the over-simplified, yet messily executed political situation, I found the second episode of "Goddess Of Fire Jeongi" more interesting than the first. MBC's newest drama, "Goddess Of Fire Jeongi", is of the paint-by-numbers variety. While this isn't a bad way to open up a show, it's very safe, I was hoping for something attention grabbing. I was excited to watch because of the stellar casting and because it was written by Kwon Soon-gyoo, who also wrote the powerhouse drama, "Warrior Baek Dong-soo". But until the child cast appeared about halfway through this first episode, the show was intensely dull, despite its cinematic beauty and the lovely soundtrack. The political mechanizations and the family history could have been cut down to five minutes and still contain all the information necessary,...More
