Almost every Korean knows womenswear fashion designer Lee Sang-bong, who became famous with his hangul, or Korean alphabet, calligraphy design in 2006. But few people know that he ?got into the clothing business about 30 years ago after a friend of his, who operated a small clothing alteration business, said the job ?provided him with enough money to live on without skipping meals. So, as the eldest son who had a family to support, Lee wasted no time in signing up for a clothing design institute.
