OCN broadcasts its second made-for-TV film COMA

OCN, a cable and satellite TV/film channel, will broadcast its second HDTV film series COMA beginning on July 21.

A five-episode horror series, with each episode about 50 minutes long, COMA is the result of the collaboration between OCN and Crying Fist producer Sio Film. COMA received a favorable review when it was first showcased in April at the Jeonju International Film Festival.

Director Kong Soo-chang, who made his directorial debut with the horror film R-Point, was in charge of the whole series and directed the first and fifth episodes of the film, while three other new directors, Jo Gyoo-ok, Yoo Joon-seok, and Kim Jeong-goo, directed the second through the fourth, respectively.

The series is packed with thrilling storylines. The first episode, "Birthday Party", and the fifth, "Dr. Chang Seo-won", are horrific stories with a surprise twist. Hit TV drama draws Chinese to Korean food

JINAN, China - An Asia-wide hit television drama is drawing unprecedented attention to traditional Korean food in China, one of the world's culinary powerhouses.

Last Saturday afternoon, the exhibition hall at the Jinan Youth Science and Technology Center in this city in Shandong Province was filled with the smell of Korean cooking.

The sharp but mouthwatering aromas drew hundreds of Chinese people. In one corner of the hall people were in a long line waiting for their turn to sample "bibimbap" (one of the most popular traditional Korean dishes - mixed vegetables and meat over a bowl of steamed rice with hot sauce), while many other food lovers were moving from booth to booth in search of Korean food they had got a glimpse of through popular Korean dramas.

Bunshinsaba to close Tokyo Fantastic Film Fest

AHN Byung-ki's latest horror film Bunshinsaba has been selected as the Closing Film of the 17th Tokyo International Fantastic Film Festival.

The film, which was also Closing Film at the 2004 Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, stars KIM Gyu-ri, LEE Se-eun, and LEE Yu-ri in the story of an ostracized high school girl who unleashes a curse on her classmates. Director AHN Byung-ki's previous film Phone was a major hit in 2002 both in Korea and in Japan.

The latest edition of theTokyo International Fantastic Film Festival runs from October 14-17. In previous editions of the festival, Korean films Volcano High and 2009 Lost Memories have been selected as the festival's Opening Film.

Astudent tormented by peers at her new school attempts to take revenge by calling a ghost, but her vengeance brings a calamity upon the whole village. In the movie, Yoo-jin (Lee Se-eun) delivers evil on her schoolmates who tease her by chanting "Bunshinsaba", an incantation for inviting a ghost. But the ghost thatposesses the girl does more than asked, trying to strike a t all the villagers.

Directed by Ahn Byung-ki, who has devoted himself to horror movies with "Nightmare" in 2000 and "Phone" in 2002, the new film tries to combine traditional fear factors with social issues such as problems in the school system and the violence of the majority.
