-A special chicken party on set as well as fun with the camera

The cast and crew of the much loved "Queen Seon-deok" have found a way to de-stress: a chicken party and fun with the camera.

On the 8th, a sponsor delivered chicken to the Yongin set and lifted the crew's spirits.

Deokman, Yusin, Alcheon, Wolya, Godo, other actors and staff, and director Kim Geun-hong took time off the busy schedule to enjoy a small chicken party.

The topic of Bidam's obsessive love for chicken came up and everyone shared a laugh. Unfortunately Bidam was filming elsewhere with Misil Ko Hyeon-jeong and didn't get to have any chicken.

Another favorite pastime on set is taking pictures with their digital cameras.

Supporting actors appearing in local dramas have begun unleashing their charms, and more viewers are starting to recognize their presence.

MBC's hit drama "Queen Seon-deok" boasts a lineup of interesting characters surrounding the main character, Deok-man, played by Lee Yo-won, who later becomes the first queen in Korea's history.

Lee is not the only actress enjoying the spotlight, as many viewers have taken notice of the villain, Mi-shil, played by Ko Hyeon-jeong.

Mi-shil dreams of becoming queen, but fails when Seondoek makes a splash in political circles. Ko, who is well known for her sweet and tender roles, has successfully transformed herself into the ambitious Mi-shil, who tries to scheme and threaten her way to the throne.

MBC explained before the drama's airing that Ko was originally offered the role of Seondeok, but she actually chose to take the part of the femme fatale after reading the script.

"Queen Seon-deok" starring Lee Yo-won and Ko Hyeon-jeong, achieved a rating higher than 20% only over the course of 3 episodes, looking victorious.

"Queen Seon-deok" recorded a rating of 23.3% (TNS capital region) on June 1st. This is 5.5% higher than the 17.8% rating for the 2nd episode. This ascent over a 20% rating mark is almost a month faster than those of "Boys over Flowers" and "My Wife Is a Superwoman", the most popular dramas of this year. This rating increase is even faster than that of "Jewel in the Palace" ("Dae Jang Geum"), which is considered the most successful Korean historical drama.

"Queen Seon-deok"'s steep increase in rating is thanks to the main cast's excellent performances as well as the drama's fast-paced plot.

What would happen if the first queen of our history, "Queen Seondeok" (Lee Yo-won) were to be the rival of the seductive, cunning and charismatic "Misil" (Ko Hyeon-jeong)? MBC's 48th Founding Anniversary Special drama "Queen Seon-deok" held a press conference on May 14th in the town of Kyung-Joo, the ancient capital city of Silla.
