Oh Ji-myeong and comedy writer Jang Deok-gyoon are working together again.

It is through the fusion historical sitcom "Oh Po-jol", which starts airing June 2 at 9:30 every Monday to Friday.

It has been 15 years since Oh Ji-myeong and Writer Jang of "Gag Concert" have worked together after "The People of Professor Park".

Jang said, "We introduced the sitcom genre in 1993 through 'People of Professor Park', and 15 years later, the rumors of the dangers of sitcoms were unfortunate. We decided to work together to rewrite the history of sitcoms".

Comic reprises 'heavy' role in new film

December 13, 2004 ㅡ Actor Oh Ji-myeong, 64, is famous for his comic roles in Korean sitcoms, including "Sunpung Sanbuingwa" and "Obaksane Saramdeul", with his facial expressions, manner of speaking and well-delivered dialogue. But, prior to this, in the 1960s and '70s, Mr. O played the heavy in more than 150 action films, making audiences gasp at his fight scenes.
He is now starring in the movie "Kabulkima" (Don't Challenge Me - None of Your Cheek) as a mixture of his current and former personae. In the movie, which Mr. O also wrote and directed, he plays an old but vengeful gangster.
In his directorial debut he is aided by close friends and co-stars Choi Bool-am and Noh Ju-hyeon.
The movie follows the story of three old gangsters as they are released from prison and end up becoming bodyguards of their rival's daughter.

"Excuse me. Can you just watch for one? Yes? You don't want to see? Eh. Just watch it for one".

Director and main actor Oh Ji-myeong (65, picture) gives an introduction like above in the trailer of his movie, "Quit Dinking Around" ("None of Your Cheek") that releases on December 3. With his hair styled like the famous soccer star "Ronaldo", with all the hair shaved except the middle part and his trademark stuttering, a chuckling noise spread through the audience.


After 45 years of acting, he has just debuted as film director at the age of 65. I met him at a café on Sejongno in Seoul for an interview.


The movie is an action drama of three aged gangsters' life stories.
