"Don't Go Away" premieres as the No. 1 morning TV drama

Premiering on April 14, 2008 in the time slot of 7:50 am, "Don't Go Away", a morning TV drama, recorded a viewership rating of 11.9% (TNS). This makes it the highest rating show among all morning TV dramas produced by rival networks.

In addition, the ratings for "Don't Go Away" are nearly equal to the 12% viewership ratings that "Heart of Destiny" recorded when it premiered on October 1, 2007. "Don't Go Away" is the follow-up drama to "Heart of Destiny". The network is hoping that "Don't Go Away" will rise in its ratings and become a beloved TV drama like "Heart of Destiny".

Viewers of the first episode of "Don't Go Away" sent in many positive comments to the network. Six twenty-something characters are invited for a party by their elementary school classmate Mi-ja (Seo Young-hee, the neurotic landlady from "Jealousy is My Middle Name"), who has been caring for her former teacher Ms. Park (Oh Mi-hee), now infirm and wheelchair-bound. The guests turn out to be a motley crew of losers and basket cases, however.

Worse, each of them bears a serious grudge against Ms. Park. Sun-hee (Lee Ji-hyeon, Yeo Gyoon-dong's "La Belle"), traumatized by the teacher's public taunting of her baby fat, has become addicted to plastic surgery and suffers from bulimia. Park Hyo-joon ("A Dirty Carnival") ruined his leg while being punished by Ms. Park and had to fold his childhood dream of becoming an ace baseball player. The social pressure to have a degree from a pedigree school is intense in Korea, even if it's unfair, superficial and outdated. Entertainers make easy targets.

Veteran actress Oh Mi-hee said she felt like she'd been in a car wreck when she received a call recently, asking for facts to verify her false academic record, which she'd left uncorrected for almost 30 years.
"I was shocked and bewildered", Oh said. "I didn't imagine this would be a problem after all these years".
Oh, 49, has enjoyed modest but steady popularity as an actress and radio D.J. since her debut in 1979. She was known as a graduate of Cheongju University, which was not true.
Oh audited classes there in 1979, but hadn't been admitted as a regular student. After taking classes in applied arts history for three semesters, Oh took a test at MBC-TV to select TV actors and stopped auditing classes.
"I wrote on my resume that I was 'studying at college', which was not entirely false", Oh said.

"The Palace" Season II gets a new name

The new drama by Director Hwang In-Roi, "The Palace II" ("Princess Hours 2")got itself a new name: "The Palace S" ("Prince Hours").

"To put the copyrights issue out of our way, we need a new title for our drama, which will also have a new cast and a new story", said GROUP 8, the producer of "The Palace S" ("Prince Hours"), whose separation from Eight Peaks generated a copyrights issue because of the similarity of its new drama's title and cast to those of the original. To resolve the issue, GROUP 8 decided to come up with another drama, which will only use "The Palace" as a backdrop but will still showcase Korea as a constitutional monarchy.

"The Palace S" ("Prince Hours") means "a new start, a special story, a spin-off (the content of the new drama will be different from that of the original), and the secret surrounding the bloodline of the hero, who will be played by Se7en.
