The first phase, Korea's Bright Sparks, was launched in July 2009 with Yahoo!, and it was participated in by 800,000 netizens from China, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. During the campaign, Park Yong-Ha, Jun Jin, and 'Andy' were voted as the Korean Hallyu stars that Asia's netizens most wanted to meet. Capitalizing on the momentum generated by this first phase, the KTO is now launching the second phase of the campaign, 100 Sparkling Stories. Through the KTO and Yahoo!'s campaign microsite (http://www.korea100sparkles.com), this phase promotes various attractions such as the Visit Korea Year event, Seven Luck Casino, Incheon, Gangwon-do Province, and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and also contains travel columns on attractions such as beauty services. Staff Reporter Many events, organizations and public groups hire celebrities, both popular and up-and-coming, to act as spokespersons and goodwill ambassadors, and the reason is simple: They attract attention. "It's all about the attention effect. The main goal for an advertisement or a promotion would be actual purchasing or participation. But before that, you have to attract people to get them involved. Hiring big stars is indeed one of the most effective ways to catch the public's attention", professor Kang Seung-koo of the Media Arts and Science Department at Korea Open University told The Korea Times. One of the busiest stars here, 'Rain', already has three commercial contracts under his belt. He holds two important posts, as spokesman for both Seoul City and "hansik", or Korean food, tapped by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. "There have been various offers, and we choose depending on the image and cause. 'Rain' always menti...| More | ||||||||||||

Actresses such as Lee Young-ae, Hwang Soo-jeong, Park Eun-hye, and Han Ji-min have formed a upright image as a top star through Director Lee Byeong-hoon's historical dramas. Actresses that have gone through 'Midas' hands' are all brilliant. MBC "Dae Jang Geum"is a rare work that has spread to the world. And Lee Young-ae is in the midst of that.
