"A drama which will reveal the new direction SBS dramas will take on in time with the 20th anniversary of the company's establishment", chief producer Kim Young-seob said of TV series "Wish Upon a Star" during a press conference held Monday. And his statement holds true as for the first time, SBS plans to air hour-long dramas back to back on Mondays and Tuesdays starting 8:50 P.M. January 4 next year. This may be why "Wish Upon a Star" has seemingly taken on a relatively safe plot. By now viewers are used to how a poor employee (Jin Bbalgang, played by Choi Jeong-won) who believes life is 'one shot' becomes romantically involved with a cold-hearted lawyer (Min Kang-hoon, played by Kim Ji-hoon-I) after serving as his maid. The story of how Choi has to support her four younger siblings had been added onto the storyline. The plot is easy enough for viewers in and past their middle ages -- hence, it seems the role of "Wish Upon a Star" will be to form ground during a new time slot by recording steady ratings with its somewhat verified story....More

TV actor Yoon Sang-hyeon and actress Moon So-ri have donated their voices to a charity show that featured Korea's first astronaut Yi So-yeon and was broadcast live on May 30 for 110 minutes. The two acted as narrators on "Choi Kyung-joo & Friends", a charity show on which pro-golfer Choi Kyung-joo and his friends raise funds to help 1,000 children whose families cannot afford medical treatments. The show is hosted by comedian Kim Yong-man and anchor Kim Kyung-ran.

Pop singer In Soon-e, contemporary poet Kim Nam-jo and 12-year-old actor Park Ji-bin are releasing a digital album to commemorate the 20th World AIDS Day, which falls on Dec. 1.
The project is supported by the Korea Federation for HIV/AIDS Prevention, a group that helps prevent AIDS and eradicate misunderstanding and biases about the disease.
All proceeds from the album will be donated to organizations that work in this field.
