The actor Lee Eon, whose real name Park Sang-min, died yesterday in a motorcyle accident, his publicist said.The 27-year-old had been considered an up-and-coming talent and had recently appeared in KBS' "Mighty Chil-woo". Eon reportedly died from a broken neck after crashing into the guardail of an overpass in Hannam-dong, Seoul. He was riding home from a party celebrating the last airing of the KBS drama. Originally a wrestler, Lee Eon turned into a professional model and then made his film debut in 2006. Popular actor and fashion model Eon (27, real name Park Sang-min) died early Thursday morning from a motorcycle accident.According to police reports, Eon attended a party to celebrate the final episode of KBS 2TV's drama series "Mighty Chil-woo" after midnight on August 21 and got into an accident while on his way home. At the time of the accident, the late actor's management agency said the details of the accident have yet to be confirmed and that his parents were on their way to Seoul from Busan. A funeral hall has been set up at the Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital in Hannam-dong, Seoul. Eon co-starred in the recently concluded drama series "Mighty Chil-woo" as one of the assissins led by Chilwu, played by Eric Moon. The Korea Entertainment Producers' Association recently announced it will produce a project album entitled "Cry With Us" to help the starving children of North Korea.
Top Korean singers, including Insooni, Park Sang-min, Byeon Jin-seop, Kim Hyun-jung, Koyote, Glass Case, Jewelry, Lee Ji-hoon, Lee Jung-hyun and Mighty Mouse, actors Cha In-pyo and Sin Ae-ra as well as North Korean TV personality Jeon Cheol-woo are taking part in the project. The celebrities gathered at the Booming Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul for the press conference and recorded the song. The association said the project aims to give aid to the starving children of the North as well as to give them a message of hope. The lyrics of the song stress that people of the South and North Korea are one and promote the message of sharing. "Portrait of a Beauty", an upcoming romantic film about gifted artists during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) started its 10-day shoot in Andong, North Gyeongsang, a city is known for its historic scenery.
The movie is based on the true-life story of the artist Shin Yun-bok, whose paintings satirized yangban, or noblemen, during the latter half of the 18th century. The film sees Shin (Kim Min-seon) dress as a man, since female artists in those days had to battle male chauvinism. Shin's teacher, Kim Hong-do (Kim Yeong-ho), provides the love interest. Album sales to support starving North Korean kids Actor Cha In-pyo and some 40 popular singers including In Soon-e and Park Sang-min will record a joint album, "Cry with Us", to help raise money for North Korean children.
