Hallyu star Hyeon Bin [AM Entertainment]
A recent poll has shown Korean actor Hyeon Bin is the No. 1 Hallyu star Thailand.
In a survey conducted on Thailand's largest Hallyu portal site Pantip.com, Hyeon Bin topped a survey asking respondents to cast a vote for their favorite actor. The 28-year-old actor beat out some of Korea's top celebrities including Rain, So Ji-sub and Jang Geun-seok.
Three dramas that Hyeon Bin starred in also ranked within the top 20 of voters' favorite dramas -- "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" in fourth place, "The Snow Queen" in 14th and "Worlds Within" in 20th....More

Asian superstar Rain and actress Lee Da-hae have been appointed publicity ambassadors for the Presidential Committee on Green Growth (PCGG), according to a press release by the committee on Wednesday.
PCGG -- which is under direct control of President Lee Myung-bak -- explained they designated the two stars to raise public awareness of the green growth policy and promote green life in everyday activities.
The two stars will appear in promotional videos about green growth and attend major events to fulfill their duties as PR ambassadors over a one-year period. They will be kicking off their activities today by attending the committee conference....More
Korean actor Jang Geun-seok performs at his fan meeting [Asia Economic Daily]
Korean actor Jang Geun-seok held his second fan meeting in Korea over the weekend, attracting scores of domestic and overseas fans to the event.
The actor met with some 3,000 fans -- including 700 people from eight countries overseas -- at his fan event, held at Seoul's Olympic Park Olympic Hall on Sunday.
Jang performed songs from the soundtrack to his recent TV series "Minamishineyo" as well as past hits by other K-pop artists including "It's Raining" by Rain and "Heartbeat" by 2PM.
The actor also displayed his deejaying skills and unveiled a series of personal photographs and videos from his childhood days up to the present....More

Asian superstar Rain took Taiwan by storm with his "Legend of Rainism" tour over the weekend, according to his agency J. Tune Entertainment on Monday.
The singer, who flew into Kaohsiung on January 28, was greeted by some 500 fans who had been waiting at the airport to see the Korean entertainer, J Tune said in a press release.
On Friday, the city's mayor Qu Ju showed up at Rain's press conference to introduce the singer himself. The event was attended by around 150 journalists from 50 different media outlets....More
