Park Jin-young: taking Korean talent to the West
"I wanted to form a group that was young but appealed to all ages with music and dance", says Park Jin-young, the man behind the stellar success of the Wonder Girls. Park debuted as a singer in 1994 and established JYP Entertainment in 1999. His company produced a list of K-pop stars like 'Rain', G.O.D, Byeol and Noel, and in 2007, Park launched his first group manufactured girl band, the Wonder Girls. "The concept of the Wonder Girls is similar to the one I had with G.O.D, who have sold over 6 million albums. As a producer, I want them to be trend leaders, and I want the singers to become the top Asian vocal group through hard training and long hours of practice", he says.  By Lee Hyo-wonStaff Reporter Singer-actor 'Rain' will give concerts next month in the United States, for the first time in three years, J-Tune Entertainment announced Thursday. The 27-year-old pop star will reappear Dec. 24 and 25 at Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas, where he performed three years ago. This will be the U.S. leg of his "Legend of Rainism" tour that took place in Japan in August and in South Korea last month. " 'Rain' is preparing to perform at the Caesars Palace Hotel, which is famous as a concert venue for top pop artists such as Celine Dion and Elton John", J-Tune Entertainment was quoted as saying, according to Yonhap News. | The screening was great! As for the movie.... well, first let me say, if you are the least bit squeamish then DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. There was intense, anime-style violence throughout the entire film. As I watched the opening scene, I did not have high expectations for this film. The opening is full of ridiculous dialogues and really bad Asian stereotypes. It left a bad impression on me during the whole film, but once I put it out of my mind and tried to enjoy the movie, I found that it was pretty good. 'Rain' did an excellent job! I really enjoyed his character. His acting and fighting scenes were the best in the film. There were also lots of 'fan service' shots ('Rain' running about in minimal clothing) so fan who saw the movie just for 'Rain' will not be disappointed. 'Mass Media Should Give Balance to Programming'

Asked about the reason behind its recent waning on CNN's Talk Asia interview program, 'Rain' said, "The biggest problem is the term Korean wave. It doesn't sound right. It's a bit too self-centered".
