The festivities coincided with the start of his concert tour "Jump: Ryoo Siwon 5th Anniversary Live" last weekend at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo. Tickets for the eight concerts in four cities have already sold out. The 37-year-old, popular in Japan as a balladeer, will start his tour in Tokyo's Super Arena and continue on to Nagoya, Yokohama and Osaka. The tour, titled "5th Anniversary Live ― Thank You and a New Beginning", fetes his fifth year as a singer in Japan. Since 2005 Ryoo has released 17 albums and singles, and has given five concert tours. Last year, he gave 30 performances in 18 cities, including two Christmas shows in the Tokyo Dome that attracted over 80,000 fans. The upcoming performances will showcase songs from his recent recordings, "Memu", his 10th single released on Oct. 7, and "Manhwagyeong" (Kaleidoscope), his sixth album that hit stores on Nov. 4. Ryoo Si-won Receives Appreciation PlaqueKorean Wave star Ryoo Si-won met with some 2000 fans from Japan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Taiwan and the U.S. on September 27 in the city of Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. Until recently, the actor typically held his meetings around the time of his birthday in Seoul, but this year he decided to hold a fan meeting in Gyeongju with the help of the North Gyeongsang provincial government, which has launched a campaign to attract foreign tourists to the region. In a news conference that Ryoo held prior to the fan meeting at the Hyundai Hotel in the Gyeongju Bomun Tourism Zone, the actor said his goal was to get married before he turned 40.
