"On Air", Excellent cameos are hot topic

SBS drama "On Air" is winning the hearts of viewers as it continues, and it is becoming tense as the love lines were revealed in episode 13.

"On Air" has also given unexpected fun as famous stars, such as Lee Hyo-lee, Jeon Do-yeon, Kang Hye-jeong, Lee Seo-jin, and Kim Min-joon, appear as cameos. In episode 13, comedian Jeong Chan-woo starred as a 'comical fortune teller' and gave lots of laughs.

Director Sin Woo-cheol and writer Kim Eun-sook's personal relationships played a big role for the fun cameo appearances.

Park Si-yeon and Director Shin Woo-chul are very close, and Lee Cheon-hee and writer Kim Eun-sook went to the same school. Lee Seo-jin, who worked with them in SBS drama "Lovers", and Jeon Do-yeon agreed to appear as a cameo with no hesitation.

Kim Min-joon, who grew close to Lee Beom-soo in "Surgeon Bong Dal-hee", and Lee Hyo-lee, Kang Hye-jeong, and Eom Ji-won, who are all close to Song Yoon-ah, agreed to star in "On Air".

"On Air" Looks Into Making of Dramas

Some 20 dramas are aired every week. There are daily dramas, morning dramas, weekend dramas… and Wednesday-Thursday dramas. In this "kingdom" of drama, "On Air", portrays how Korean soaps are made.

"On Air" is directed by Sin Woo-cheol and written by Kim Eun-sook, the creators of hit dramas "Lovers in Paris" (2004), "Lovers in Prague" (2005) and "Lovers" (2006). They teamed up again to give an exclusive behind-the-scenes view of Korean dramas.

"This is a drama about the people who create these dramas. Nowadays, Korean dramas are not only aired in Korea but in other countries as well. I wanted to write a drama about the processes and behind-the-scenes stories with a dramatic and exaggerative touch", said Kim at a press conference last week at SBS.

New SBS drama set to be a smash

The blockbuster-making duo Sin Woo-cheol and Kim Eun-sook have teamed up again to create SBS' new drama "On Air".

Producer Sin and TV scriptwriter Kim masterminded the hit SBS dramas "Lovers in Paris" (2004), "Lovers in Prague" (2005) and "Lovers" (2006). Their biggest hit, "Lovers in Paris", which starred actress Kim Jeong-eun and actor Park Shin-yang, brought in a record viewer rating of 56.3 percent.

Now, Sin and Kim are pooling their talent to create an entirely new and refreshing miniseries. They started off by exchanging their trademark byword "lovers" for a much less romantic title, "On Air". And that's not the only thing different about their latest project.

Song Yoon-ah, "Don't be surprised by my drastic transformation"

Song Yoon-ah is famous for being sweet and sentimental, and that is a reason why she is always popular among fellow actors. Even during the interview, actress Eom Ji-won stopped by without hesitation to say hi.

And now she is taking the challenge to transform. Other than her 'evil' role in "Mister Q" back in 1998 and the movie "Jail Breakers - No. 815", this character is probably her largest change.

Song Yoon-ah will be playing the ever so confident and fearless top class scriptwriter Seo Yeong Eun in the television drama series "On Air" which is to start airing on February 27th.

Jeon Do-yeon makes cameo appearance in upcoming drama series 'On Air'

Actress Jeon Do-yeon will be making a cameo appearance in the SBS television drama series 'On Air' which is set to air on February 27th. This will be the first cameo appearance for the actress who will play herself in the series.

'On Air' which is actually set in a broadcasting company will feature Jeon Do-yeon as the top star who one of the leading characters Jang Ki Joon (played by Lee Beom-soo), an agent and manager, used to represent. Jeon Do-yeon finished filming the scene last month in Seoul.

Jeon Do-yeon's appearance was based on her relationship with the writer Kim Eun Sook and producing director Sin Woo-cheol who she worked with during "Lovers in Prague".

Sin Woo-cheol comments, "It probably wasn't easy for a top actress to agree to a cameo appearance but I am very thankful that she did so without hesitation. I believe she will give a significant positive impact to the series".
