Five Would-be Horror Queens Introduced

Viewers will soon be able to see the fifth part of the movie series "Whispering Corridors" entitled "A Blood Pledge", which began in 1998. The series has gained popularity so far for producing many top actresses, such as Kim Gyoo-ri, Choi Kang-hee, Park Jin-hee, Kim Min-seon, Park Ye-jin, Lee Yeong-jin, Kong Hyo-jin, Song Ji-hyo, Park Han-byeol, Cho An, Kim Ok-bin, Seo Ji-hye, Chae Ye-rin and this time Jang Kyeong-ah, 22, Son Eun-seo, 23, Oh Yeon-seo, 22, Yoo Shin-ae, 21, and Song Min-jeong, 22.

We met with the five soon-to-be horror stars ahead of the movie's opening, expecting to see them nervous and excited. But their sassiness made them appear confident. Adultery. Gay sex. And showing the "Full Monty".

These days, all of the above goes in Korean entertainment. But in the courts at least, Confucian values still hold sway over Korean society.

Just three months ago, the Constitutional Court tossed out a petition filed by an actress for the dismissal of an earlier ruling charging her with adultery. This law, which only exists in a few countries today, has been in place here for more than half a century.

Yet if the entertainment industry is anything to go by, Koreans appear to have moved on, not necessarily embracing sexual topics in public but certainly comfortable enough to be more open compared to the past.

Remember that in 1970s Korea, police officers patrolled the streets taking tape measures to miniskirts to stop females from showing too much flesh.

Popularity of Song Ji-hyo's 'A Frozen Flower' Yet to Thaw

The popularity of film "A Frozen Flower" remains unshaken despite the release of a series of Hollywood movies.

Actress Song Ji-hyo, who played the queen, is riding a wave of popularity. "I put all of myself into this film for nine months. I shot almost all the scenes 40 times", said Song, hinting that it was a rough journey for her to finally meet audience's expectations.

On her much anticipated bed scene with actor Jo In-seong, Song said, "When I decided to do this film, nudity was not the central issue. How much I expose is not important to me; I thought without that scene, it would be difficult to portray subtle changes in emotion. What mattered to me at the time was working on my facial expressions apart from the posture that the director wanted me to convey".
