As the year 2007 ended, the dramas are also changing its path. On 26th, SBS Wed-Thur drama, "Lobbyist" was finished, followed by KBS 2 "In-Soon is Pretty" on 27th. Previously, KBS1 historical drama, "Dae Jo Yeong" was crowned with perfection on 23rd. NY Release of "Woman on the Beach"

Director HONG Sang-Soo is highly regarded in Europe where his films have screened at Cannes to great acclaim and had subsequent theatrical releases in France. In the U.S. he is still widely unknown, although retrospectives of his work in Toronto and San Francisco have spread word of his particular genius. Finally, in January 2008, New York City filmgoers will get a chance to see his most recent feature "Woman on the Beach" (2006).

Film Forum, New York's leading art-house and independent movie theatre will hold the U.S. premiere run of the film Jan 9 – 22. Woman is HONG's seventh feature and has travelled to many festivals including Seattle, New York, Vancouver and Toronto. It received a glowing review in the New York Times from veteran critic A.O. Scott, who called HONG's "most coherent and emotionally accessible film yet", describing the director as belonging to "a fast-growing category of international filmmakers: master at the height of their powers".

Supermodel-Turned-Actresses Taking Over Airwaves

Supermodel-turned-actresses are becoming a hot topic again. There are around 10 former models working as actresses: Kim Seon-ah, Song Seon-Mi, Han Go-eun, Han Ye-seul, Han Ji-hye , Hyeon Yeong, Choi Yeo-jin, lee Hwa-seon, Jo Hyang-gi, Yoon Ji-min. By any standards, they lead the entertainment industry.

Kim Seon-ah and Song Seon-mi have jumped to stardom by way of various projects, while Choi Yeo-jin and and Han Ji-hye have won fans for the way that they completely transform themselves into whatever roles they play. Hyeon Yeong and Jo Hyang-gi have been busy in various entertainment programs and TV dramas, while Lee Hwa-seon has turned heads with not just her acting skills but her car racing as well. Kim Sae-rom also announced her intentions to make forays into the acting world. The result can be seen in living rooms sometime next year.

Hong Sang-soo's Woman on the Beach

Director Hong Sang-soo's next upcoming film is titled Woman on the Beach (Haebyeonui Yeo-in). The film portrays a filmmaker at a beach resort off-season who gets romantically involved with two women. The leading actors are: Ko Hyeon-jeong, Kim Seung-woo and Song Seon-mi.

Hong's films are regulars at film festivals worldwide and Woman on the Beach won't be an exception, invited already to the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival (NYFF). The 31st Toronto International Film Festival will be held from September 7 to 16, while the 44th New York Film Festival from September 29 until October 15, 2006.

Hong Sang-soo is a highly regarded director who is awarded at several film festivals. His awarded debut feature The Day a Pig Fell into the Well immediately gained him critical acclaim.
