Best Play Series to Open With 'Equus'

"Yeongeuk Yeoljeon 3" (Series of the Best Plays) has unveiled this year's lineup of nine plays, and will embark on a 13-month run starting Dec. 1. The project consists of classic masterpieces, literature-based dramas and world premieres.

"Equus", written by Peter Shaffer in 1973, will be on stage as the opening performance.

The play portrays the story of Dysart, a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man named Alan who has a pathological fascination with horses.

Jo Jae-hyeon and renowned producer and actor Song Seung-hwan will take the role of Dysart. Television stars Jeong Tae-woo and Ryoo Deok-hwan will play Alan.

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO, CEO Lee Charm) has launched the second phase of its global tourism promotion campaign, which promotes Visit Korea 2010-2012 and enhances Korea's image as a tourist destination.

The first phase, Korea's Bright Sparks, was launched in July 2009 with Yahoo!, and it was participated in by 800,000 netizens from China, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. During the campaign, Park Yong-Ha, Jun Jin, and 'Andy' were voted as the Korean Hallyu stars that Asia's netizens most wanted to meet.

Capitalizing on the momentum generated by this first phase, the KTO is now launching the second phase of the campaign, 100 Sparkling Stories. 'Legally Blonde' Sparkles With Starry Cast

The Broadway musical "Legally Blonde" has captured the spotlight with its star-studded cast, which includes Lee Honey, Jessica and Kim Ji-woo.

The musical, based on the 2001 movie of the same name, is getting a Korean version for the first time and opens Nov. 14 at the COEX Artium in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul.

The show will be presented by PMC Production, renowned for creating numerous homegrown shows such as "Nanta", "Jewel in the Palace" and "Brothers Were Brave".

"It's my first musical. I am very happy to work with excellent actors and actresses. I am nervous but I will do my best", Jessica, a member of the popular girl group Girls Generation, told reporters at a press conference at the theater, Tuesday.

Jessica will alternate the lead role of Elle Woods with Lee Honey and Kim Ji-woo. Referring to the role, she said, "I saw the film. So the character is familiar to me. Maybe I can learn something from other veteran actors".

Soo-ae named 'style setter' in Vogue

Korean actress Soo-ae was introduced as one of the style setters in Vogue, a fashion and lifestyle magazine published in the United States.

The magazine showed the photo of Soo-ae wearing Prada's floral dress in its January edition along with other A-list Hollywood stars like Keira Knightley and Rachel Weisz.

In its fashion review section, the magazine said: "Style setters are already welcoming the first signs of spring. Soo-ae's Prada dress was strewn with lush poppies at a film festival".

The 27-year-old actress wore a full-skirted, strapless dress designed by the Italian fashion house during the 12th Pusan International Film Festival held in the southern port city of Busan two months ago.

According to sources, Soo-ae's Prada dress is priced at slightly over 10 million won ($11,000) and was brought from the fashion house's head office in Italy, only for the actress.
