Starlet Han Ga-in will return to the small screen for the first time in three years, starring in a new SBS drama titled "Bad Man" in May.

On Monday and Tuesday nights from May 25 to Dec. 22 last year, the Korean TV drama world was dominated by a queen.

During its seven-month run, the MBC hit drama "Queen Seon-deok" topped ratings lists, recording an audience share of 44 percent at its peak.

Now, three new TV series on three different networks are poised to compete for the position that was so well guarded by "Queen Seon-deok" last year. The three series, all of which kicked off on Monday and are broadcast in the same Monday-Tuesday time slot at 10 p.m. both nights, are "Jejoongwon" on SBS, "Master of Study" on KBS, and "Pasta" on MBC.

The battle between the three could all come down to style and subject matter.

Among the offerings are a period drama and two contemporary tales, and the three dramas are set within the fields of medicine, education and culinary arts, respectively.

It seems that SBS TV series "Jejoongwon" should lable itself more as a medical drama rather than a historical drama. And it is not just because its scenarist Lee Ki-won had written MBC's hit medical series "White Tower" or because the story revolves around Jejungwon, South Korea's first hospital which used Western medicine during the latter era of the Joseon Dynasty. A video containing a preview of "Jejoongwon" shown at a press conference held Wednesday, focused most of its story on medicine -- a life-long rivalry exists between Yeon Jung-hoon and Park Yong-woo, who play the role of doctors at Jejungwon in the drama, because of several surgical operations which split their fates while one's mother and the other's father are both in situations where they cannot receive proper medical treatment....More

Kim Hee-seon, one of South Korea's top actresses, has unveiled a photo of her baby daughter through a Seoul-based fashion magazine.

Kim, 32, appears on the cover of the September issue of Marie Claire Korea, the South Korean edition of international magazine Marie Claire, with her daughter Yeon-a.

Kim, a hallyu (Korean wave) star who gave birth to her baby in January, had stopped short of showing any more than Yeon-a's hands and feet on her blog.

The cover featuring Kim and her daughter will also be used in other Asian Marie Claire editions, according to press reports.
