'Virtuous Online Reply' Campaign Launched

"While malicious comments can drive a person to suicide, virtuous comments can help a person in despair overcome his or her adversity".

In the wake of a series of celebrity suicides stemming from vicious Web rumors, a campaign to increase responsible Web posting behavior is spreading throughout the nation.

The Coalition for Virtuous Replies set up in May seeks to raise public awareness about the danger of malicious Web comments and encourage the posting of good replies that respect and cheer up people.

Led by ChungAng University professor Min Byung-chul, who made his name through English education, the group has as members a host of celebrities such as lawyer Goh Seung-deok, actor Ahn Seong-gi, entertainer Yoo Dong-geun and broadcaster Kim Je-dong.

Min said he was shocked in January after singer Uni took her own life due to vicious Web rumors, and decided to launch a campaign to encourage good posts online.

Actor Song Seung-heon Cast in New MBC Drama 'East of Eden'

Actor Song Seung-heon will be returning to the small screen for the first time in five years through the brand new MBC drama series 'East of Eden'. Song, who is currently busy with the drama shoot, recently told reporters that he definitely feels the pressure of everyone's expectations over his comeback as he had been away for so long. At the same time, the hunky actor added that he is excited and confident about his upcoming role in the new drama series.

'East of Eden' is an epic 50-part drama series that begins in a mining village in the 1960s. The drama stars some of Korea's most celebrated actors including Lee Mi-sook, Yoo Dong-geun, Jo Min-ki, Han Ji-hye, Lee Da-hae, Yoon Jeong-hoon, Lee Yeon-hee and Park Hae-ji.

A delightful banquet among the stars begins soon in "East of Eden!"

The star-studded cast of "East of Eden", a new MBC TV miniseries special (writer: Nah Yeon-sook, co-directors: Kim Jin-man, Choi Byeong-gil) came together to shoot a promotional poster for a new TV show.

Starting from 12 pm on July 28th, the photo shoot took place at the MBC Ilsan Dream Center and lasted for nine grueling hours. The leading cast members including Song Seung-heon, Yeon Jeong-hoon, Lee Da-hae, Han Ji-hye, Park Hae-jin, Lee Yeon-hee, Lee Mi-sook, Yoo Dong-geun, and Jo Min-ki struck different poses for the camera.

Song Seung-heon was the first star to appear at the studio. "East of Eden" will be his first show for MBC in 10 years after last appearing on the MBC sitcom, Three Men, Three Women" in 1997. "It feels like a homecoming visit", he said with a smile.
