Kim Jeong-eun, the heroine of the handball movie "Forever the Moment", will host her first music program, "Chocolate".

Instead of the shorts and sneakers she wore in the hit film, Kim appeared at a press conference Wednesday, in a creme color ruffled dress and expressed her excitement by saying that she finally fulfilled her dream.

"I have dreamed of hosting this kind of program for the last five years and I am so happy that I finally can", she said.

"Chocolate" is a music/talk show that will follow Lee Juck's "Music Space" on Tuesdays. Viewers will be able to see not only singers but also other celebrities show off their vocal talents.

"Considering that I'm hosting a music program, I thought I needed some sort of a connection. It seems I'm overreacting, but I have started practicing playing the piano for the program. We are going for an acoustic and non-digital atmosphere where the viewers can listen to memorable oldies", she said.

YB (Yoon Do-hyun Band) will be the only band representing Korea at the '2008 SxSW (South by Southwest) Music Festival', which will be held in Austin, Texas from March 12th-16th.

The Korean rock band will perform at noon on the 13th for thirty minutes for the main section called 'SESAC Day Stage' held at the Austin Convention Center.

'SESAC Day Stage' is an important event at SxSW due to the great number of international music executives in attendance and open opportunities for tour contracts.

At 10:00 p.m. that night, YB will also be holding a showcase event at the center of festivities located at the Bourbon Rocks Patio on 6th Street.

YB lead vocalist, Yoon Do-hyeon, said that they will be able to sing and enjoy themselves with the guests.

He added, "I plan to bring the international audience together as one through the sound of Korean rock. Since it's a global event, we're prepared to do our very best"....

Many pop stars, regardless of the genre they're in now, have memories of the head-banging good old days when rock and roll was their lives. Even pretty-faced boy band stars, who have little or no appeal to rock enthusiasts, often brag that they once played rock music when they were students, as if to suggest that they meant to be rock musicians, if only things had turned out better.

Whether or not their claims are true, it is hard to deny that rock music has never been a mainstream in the local pop music market, which has long been dominated by standard ballade and dance music, despite the cult-like status the music has achieved with a great number of would-be singers.

YB (Yoon Do-hyeon Band) will participate in the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas, U.S.A. March 14 through 18 (local time) and will sing at Maggie Mae's Club in Austin on March 17 at 8:30 p.m.

YB's manager, Daeum Entertainment Co., Ltd., said, "YB was invited as a representative of Korean popular singers by the creative director of SXSW, who was deeply impressed with YB's music presented to the international music exhibition Midem at the Cannes in France last January".

YB held a solo concert at the B.B King Club in New York, U.S.A. last November and toured Europe in 2005. Yoon Do-hyun promised that he would enchant worldwide audiences with characteristic Korean emotions, and that it is a worldwide music festival that is quite different from concerts he used to hold. Yoon and his troupe will hold their own concerts at Seattle and Los Angeles on March 23 and 25 on their way back home.

Actor Jang Dong-gun and actress Han Ga-in have earned the most votes in a recent popularity survey. "Rain" and Lee Hyo-lee topped the singers' list and Yoo Jae-seok and Jo Hye-ryeon took the comedian vote.

The results come from a September survey conducted by a marketing research firm on 1,400 Korean men and women in five major cities.

Among actors, Jang, with 23 percent of the votes, again ranked atop the poll as he did in the year's first half. Trailing behind was Ahn Seong-gi (9.5%), Song Il-gook (8.9%), Lee Joon-ki (5.3%) and Han Seok-kyu (5.2%). Kwon Sang-woo, Kang Dong-won, Bae Yong-joon, Choi Soo-jong and Won Bin rounded out the top ten.

In the actress category, Han Ga-in led the group with 9.5 percent followed by Kim Tae-hee (8%), Lee Young-ae (7.9%), Kim Hye-soo (7.0%), Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Ji-hyeon with a tie, Lee Na-young, Lee Mi-yeon, Han Hye-jin and Jeon Do-yeon.

Among male singers, Rain garnered 20 percent of the votes trailed by trot singers Tae Jin-a (8.7%)...
