"KUNDO" claims gold with over 2.1M in support...

It's been nine weeks since a Korean film last held the top spot in its own box office, but finally a local flick has managed to reign true. Last week Yoon Jong-bin's much-anticipated "KUNDO : Age of the Rampant" was released and captured over 61% of the sales (2.1M admissions). Four Korean blockbusters are expected to set up a box office war as many filmgoers try to beat the summer heat in cinemas.

About half of moviegoers over the weekend chose to watch "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes". The movie accounted for 49.4 percent of Korean ticket sales from Friday through Sunday in the second weekend since its release, according to the Korea Film Council.
