The Korean entertainment industry is bigger than ever. Increasing numbers of Korean singers and actors are gaining popularity across Asia, riding the hallyu, or Korean wave, abroad and bringing the Korean entertainment world closer to its goal of becoming the Hollywood of Asia.
In particular, actors are becoming more like their Hollywood counterparts, with more star couples coming out of the closet with their relationships, which was once uncommon.
The relationship of Hyeon Bin and Song Hye-kyo, two hallyu stars who went public as an item in August, was the most talked-about example of this trend - until last week.
Two high-profile Korean actors, Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young, surprised the industry last Thursday when they went public with their relationship of about two years.

| Actor Kim Dies in Motorcycle Accident (Source) |

Actor Kim Tae-ho-I died in a motorcycle accident Thursday morning. He was 30.
The former model was driving toward Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, when he crashed into a truck that was parked near the road.
"We were heading to Chuncheon to have lunch after leaving Seoul and stopping by the Soyang Dam", his fellow motorcycle club members told the police.
According to police, Kim's driving license was revoked due to penalty points until Aug. 1.
Kim, who started out as a model and moved on to become an actor, appeared in the movie "Sex is Zero 2" and dramas "You Are Not Alone" (2004, SBS) and "Blue Fish" (2007, SBS). He was set to appear at a charity fashion show next month.

The SBS drama "Blue Fish" starring top actress Ko So-young might have succeeded in capturing the media's attention, but failed to do so when it came to viewers.
The first episode of the weekend soap-opera series which aired last Saturday recorded a viewers' rating of 8 percent and recorded an even lower figure of 6.5 percent on Sunday, according to TNS Media Research.
In the meantime, "Dae Jo Yeong", an epic series produced by KBS, benefited from a 27 percent lead-in rating Sunday entering a new phase of the story with anti-Chinese forces trying to restore the Goguryeo kingdom being crushed. "Que sera, sera", another competing drama from MBC recorded 8.4 percent, failing to maintain the popularity of its previous medical drama, "White Tower".
