Staff Reporter
Fans of TV dramas already have an ample lineup of witty programs to choose from, but the list will become more colorful with a number of top actresses returning to the small screen.
Movie star Son Ye-jin is tapping into the small screen market with "Personal Preference" (working title) after appearing in the dark thriller "White Night" (2009).
Son will appear as Park Gae-in, the CEO of a famous furniture company, who dreams of having a gay guy friend. She gets close to her dream when she ends up living with Jeon Jin-ho, whom she mistakes as the perfect match for her. Jeon will be played by "Boys Over Flowers" star Lee Min-ho.
The actress expressed the difficulty of portraying her "White Night" character during press events and interviews, and it seems like she will be able to brush away the mysterious and dark personality. The movie may have not topped the box office, but it showed how fearless the 28-year-old is when it comes to acting.

| Lee Min-ki revels in the art of acting (Source) |
2009/08/06 |
Actor Lee Min-ki, 24, who starred in the two recent Korean summer blockbusters "Haeundae" and "A Million", seems to be enjoying his newfound popularity.
Lee, who started out as a model and later ventured into acting, has been doing both for the past five years.
He has appeared in TV dramas such as "Dalja's Spring" and "Really Really Like You" and movies, including "Romantic Island" and "Oishi Man".
But it is through his two latest films that he has finally begun to gain a foothold as an actor.
In the Korean disaster film "Haeundae", Lee plays Hyung-sik, a Coast Guard who rescues a female college student and eventually falls in love with her. As Hyung-sik, Lee projects an air of innocence and self-sacrifice. In the film "A Million", however, Lee takes on the role of Cheol-hee, showing his gritty side as a hot-tempered Marine-turned-janitor who finds himself involved in a survival reality show where eight people are chosen to compete for $1 million in the Australian outback.

The new KBS 2TV (Wed./Thurs.) drama "Three Dads, One Mom" is about a married couple who receives sperm donations from three of the husband's friends. Although the conception is successful, the wife loses her husband suddenly in an accident. The story continues with the wife and the three friends.
Eugene plays the role of the widowed mother, "Song Na-young", but this isn't her first role as a mother. In 2005, the actress starred in the MBC drama "Wonderful Life" as a young woman who gets pregnant and thrown into married life after a night of bad judgments.
"Back then, the baby wasn't planned, but this time the baby is, so I can be much more of a proud mommy", Eugene (Yoo Jin) said. "In the other drama, my husband didn't love me, but for this one I receive the love of three men, though I do lose my hu... |More

| From TV ad to social drama (Source) |
2008/03/19 |
It was not an expected career move.
Model-turned-actress Seo Dan-bi became a household name when she fronted the television ad for KTF mobile phones.
But her latest project was live theater, among a cast of actors with disabilities.
Seo, 23, appeared in "Angels Without Wings", which was staged at Nowon Art Center last week.
"Working with disabled actors has been a thoroughly rewarding experience", said Seo.
Since her debut in 2006, Seo has mostly appeared in television commercials, including, most famously, the KTF commercial. The theater show couldn't be more different.
Her fellow actors are Kim In-moon, 69, and Kil Byul-eun, both survivors of debilitating strokes that affected their movement, and Kang Min-hwi who has Down's syndrome.
People with disabilities are not in the mainstream of society, partly because of social prejudices, Seo said, but she found that her fellow actors were able to convey a deeper and more diverse range of emotions on stage.
