Historical epic "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" has been sold overseas ahead of its airing in Korea, according to the show's broadcaster MBC on Wednesday.
The 50-part series starring top Korean actors Ji Jin-hee and Han Hyo-joo has been purchased by several countries in Asia including Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong to bring in profits worth over eight billion won, MBC explained##.

This year's lineup of dramas proved to be interesting. There were young, handsome characters attracting female fans ("Boys Over Flowers", KBS), smart housewives took over households and offices ("My Wife is a Superwoman", MBC) and ancient royalty ("Queen Seon-deok", MBC) and intelligence agents ("Iris", KBS) fought for their lives on the small screen.
For 2010, networks are preparing another year of compelling dramas based on history, catchy storylines and even war.
Back to the Past
Three networks are traveling back in time, mostly to the Joseon era (1392-1910) for their 2010 lineups.
SBS will air "Jejoongwon", a stylish drama about the nation's first "modern" hospital during the Joseon Kingdom period. | Song Il-gook Wraps Shoot in China (Source) |

The team of KBS 2TV's drama, "Land of Wind", finally wrapped up its shoot with Song Il-gook in China and returned to Korea on July 30th.
According to its production company, Chorokbaem Media, the "Land of Wind" team left for Shanghai on June 16th and spent 45 days filming around China. Many of the scenes were shot in Wuxi, about one to two hours from Shanghai by car, Lanzhou and Zingtai, which is two hours from Beijing by plane.
"We had difficulty filming due to the monsoon", said Chorokbaem. "And toward the end, we were rushed and pressed for time".
After one day off, the filming crew will continue the "Land of Wind" shoot as they travel through the countryside of Korea.
Set for a temporary September release, "Land of Wind" is a 36-part drama based on the popular graphic novel series by Kim Jin-I. "Jumong", "All In", and "Heo Jun" writer Choi Wan-gyoo wrote the teleplay and Kang Il-soo of "Emperor of the Sea" fame is directing. ... |More

Actress Seong Hyeon-ah tied the knot with businessman Heo Eun-gyo at the Paradise Hotel in Busan on Sunday. The wedding was held behind closed doors out of respect for the bridegroom and his family who did not want media exposure.
At a press conference before the wedding, the 32-year-old actress shyly expressed her hope to have a baby as soon as possible since she has married quite late. Around 1,000 guests including actress Kim Jeong-eun and composer Joo Young-hoon attended the wedding.
Moving into acting after winning the Miss Korea pageant in 1994, Seong has appeared in several TV dramas such as "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", and "The Way of Medicine: The Epic Doctor Hur Jun" ("Heo Jun") and films such as "The Scarlet Letter", and "Woman is the Future of Man" and "Time". She currently plays Princess Hwawan in the MBC drama "Yi San".
