Every year, actress Lee Young-ae seems to get better. With each new television drama or film, the genre she chooses to explore and the characters she portrays have become more diverse and complex.
Her latest film, which opens Friday, is no different. In "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", the 34-year-old actress plays Kum-ja, a woman falsely accused of kidnapping and murdering a little boy. Upon her release, she sets out for revenge against the man who put her through years of anguish.
"Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" is "Old Boy" director Park Chan-wook's third and final installment of his revenge-themed series.
The media is already raving over Lee's chilling portrayal of Kum-ja.
However, this hasn't always been the case for the stunning actress who has managed to launch one excellent performance after another.

A total of 9 films, which were screened at The Seoul Independent Film Festival(SIFF) 2004, made inroads into the competition section of the Syracuse International Film & Video Festival, the U.S.
These 9 cinemas that break down into full-length, medium-length and short film, include 'Wake up?', 'Hitchhiking', 'Papa' and so forth.
The Syracuse Film Festival, scheduled to be held from April 28 through May 1, greets the second time as of this year.
Among a total of 9 films, Papa is depicting a girl, Min-ju who suffers from autism, has started feeling sexual desire and injured herself. Min-ju's Father is anxious about his daughter and looking for a perfect boyfriend to his daughter.....
Hitchhiking is a story it's the first trip together for a couple that has been dating for about six months. To get out of boredom, a guy demands for new kind of excitement from his girlfriend and 'not she' but 'she' ends up 'hitchhiking' himself.
