Raissa Villasin, a Filipino woman living Norwalk, Calif., is a long-time fan of Korean dramas, having stumbled on one while channel surfing in 2002.
She got hooked, watching Korean dramas on local channels LA 18 or KXLA 44, and on online streaming sites where she enjoyed dramas such as "Wedding" and "You're Beautiful".

Big Bang member Dae-sung [Asia Economic Daily]
Dae-sung, member of popular boy band Big Bang, will replace T.O.P., the rapper of the same group, to star in a new TV series by famed writer Song Ji-na.
"Dae-sung will take off his acting career starting by making an appearance in 'Zero Plus'", an official at the group's agency YG Entertainment told Asia Economic Daily over the phone on Monday.

Actress Ko Hyeon-jeong, who played a charismatic royal concubine in smash hit TV series "Queen Seon-deok", will expand her grasp on such realm of acting by taking on the role of Korea's first female president in a new MBC drama.
An official at Ko's agency told Asia Economic Daily over the phone Wednesday that the 38-year-old actor has decided to take on the lead role in "Daemul", a drama adaptation of the comic book of the same name by famed cartoonist Park In-gwon.##

Actress Ko Hyeon-jeong has been named the top TV star of the year in a poll, for her role in MBC TV's hit period drama "Queen Seon-deok".
Korea Gallup said Thursday that 34.8 percent of the 1,726 respondents chose Ko as the year's best actor, beating other top stars in the poll of viewers aged 13 and older. Trailing Ko were heartthrob Lee Byeong-heon and actress Kim Tae-hee, stars of KBS TV's "Iris", who garnered 20.5 and 16.3 percent of the votes, respectively.
The results of the survey underline the fact that Ko is enjoying a career renaissance. Ko quit acting at the peak of her career in 1995, after marrying Shinsegae Group CEO Chung Yong-jin. She returned to acting in 2005 with the SBS TV series "Spring Days" in the wake of their divorce.
