| Actor Im Joo-hwan Holds First Fan Meeting in Japan (Source) |

Actor Im Joo-hwan, who played the handsome warrior Hanbaek in the recent hit film "A Frozen Flower", has held his first fan meeting in Japan.
The meeting, entitled "On White Day", was held at Omotesando in Tokyo on Saturday and Sunday, and some 300 fans came to see him. Im has gained popularity in the island country through the TV dramas "The Snow Queen" and "Single Dad in Love" and the film "M" by Lee Myeong-se.
"I want you to have a good time today", he said. "Think of me as a friend of yours rather than an actor from Korea".
He talked about his childhood, showing photos and how he got a part in "Boys Over Flowers", a high-profile drama being aired on KBS2. He also talked about his latest film "A Frozen Flower" scheduled to be released there, including anecdotes while shooting it.
When the fans told him that they now want to see him play evil roles since he usually played good roles, he said that he will try to show various sides of himself by taking various roles.

Yoon Sang-hyeon and Jo Yeo-jeong will star in the KBS 1TV daily drama "The Road Home".
The new drama is slated to air next January when the drama "You are My Destiny" comes to an end.
"The Road Home" will portray love and conflicts between family members running a general hospital.
Producer Moon Bo-hyeon, who helmed the KBS 1 TV daily dramas "By Land and Sky" and "Single Dad in Love", will team up with writer Lee Geum-rim, who wrote the dramas "Eun-shil", "When I Miss You" and "Blue Mist".
Yoon, who played a comedic character in the sitcom "The Secret of Keu Keu Island ", will take on the role of Yoo Min-soo, the eldest son of the hospital's CEO.
Cho will play Yoo's wife Jang Mi-ryeong, who bears a child out of wedlock but raises it with maternal love.
Lee Sang-woo, who played Goo Se-ju in the drama "The Five Wives' Club", will also appear as the younger brother of Yoon.... |More

| "Powerful Opponents" on KBS 2TV Kicks Off with 7.1% Viewer Rating (Source) |

"Kangjeok" or "Powerful Opponents", a brand new drama series on KBS 2TV starring Chae Rim and Lee Jong-hyuk, started off with a lower-than-expected viewer rating of 7.1 percent (TNS Media Korea) on April 14.
In the first episode, new bodyguards were shown going through grueling training sessions. "Powerful Opponents" competed with "Yi San" on MBC (27.9%) and "I Love You" on SBS (6.7%).
According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the viewer rating for "Powerful Opponents" on April 4 was 6.1 percent while that of "Yi San" and "I Love You" were 28.4 percent and 7 percent, respectively.
The viewer rating for "Powerful Opponents" is only slightly higher than the preceding drama series "Single Dad in Love" which recorded a viewer rating of 5.9 percent in the first episode and an average viewer rating of 4.6 percent.
Meanwhile, "Don't Go Away" ("Unshaken"), a new morning drama series on MBC starring Hong Eun-hee and Kim Nam-jin, recorded a viewer rating of 12.6 for the first episode ... |More

| 'Single Dad' Oh Ji-ho Visits Children's Wing (Source) |

Actors Oh Ji-ho and Ahn Do-gyoo, who play father and son, respectively, on the KBS 2TV Mon/Tues drama "Single Dad in Love", regularly meet children with rare illnesses.
On March 11th, Oh Ji-ho visited the children's wing at Seoul National University Hospital where he met 3-year old Ha-neul, who has never been out of the hospital due to a congenital illness called 'tufting enteropathy'. Tufting enteropathy sometimes causes irreversible intestinal failure and prevents patients from absorbing and digesting their food. There are only three people in Korea with this rare disease.
Oh Ji-ho was originally at the hospital for the filming of the the March 15th broadcast of "Love's Request" (KBS 1TV). He stayed in the children's wing long after the shoot was over, making helium-filled balloons for the children and consoling their guardians.
In "Single Dad in Love", Oh Ji-ho plays a character who goes to any length to ensure the care of his son recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.... |More

Drama OSTs are evolving. Famous singers participate or the drama characters sing it themselves. The genres are also diverse, from ballads to hiphop, rock, and crossovers.
Oh Ji-ho from "Single Dad in Love", Park Yong-ha and Song Yoon-ah from "On Air", Jeong Joon-ho from "Last Scandal" have sing the theme songs themselves.
The participation of star singers in drama soundtracks is not big news anymore. 'Tei', Shin Hye-sung, and Yoon Mi-rae participated in the soundtrack for "Bad Love". Dong Bang Shin Ki" sang in "The Legend" and Bobby Kim sang in "White Tower" and "Devil".
The evolution of drama soundtracks originates in the decline of album sales and on, offline mediums.
In the music industry where the damage can be large, drama soundtracks are providing a way out.
The repetitive music is just the thing to create an addiction to mini series, broadcasted twice a week. The emotions from the images of the drama's story and the music mix to leave a lasting impression.
