Korean dramas may be famous for their catchy storylines and handsome characters, but there is no doubt that heroines also play a big part in terms of popularity and content.
This year's drama lineup boasts various female characters, following last year's femme fatale Mi-shil from "Queen Seon-deok" and secret agent Choi Seung-hee from "Iris".
Lee Da-hae stars in the new drama "The Slave Hunters" as the captive Eon-nyeun who receives a new name, Kim Hye-won, upon rising in social status to the high-rank of "yangban".
She falls for fellow yangban-turned-slave-hunter Dae-gil, played by actor Jang Hyeok, but things take a turn when she befriends Song Tae-ha, played by Oh Ji-ho, the slave Dae-gil is pursuing.
The 25-year-old actress, along with the cast and producers, has a lot of weight on her shoulders, as the new drama follows the trail of the successful "Iris".

Actress Ryoo Hyeon-kyeong, who has been recently on the spotlight by expanding her career into film directing, gets into the 'Asiana International Short Film Festival'.
Ryoo made a great achievement in 'CINE Student' section of the 13th Chungmuro International Film Festival in Seoul where her short piece, 'Kwang Tae's Basic Story', was among the final 30 short films out of the total 120 entries. Her work fell short of receiving awards but she made progress with her talent as a director as well as an actress recognized.
As a director, she attends the 7th Asiana International Short Film Festival which raises its curtain on Nov. 5. She studies film making at Hanyang Univ. She already debuted as a director and female lead in her short piece 'Dissonance' 10 years ago when she was in the 3rd grade of middle school.

MBC's program "Introducing Stars' Friends" was one of the most popular shows last year and it has now become the stage for friends and family members of celebrities who also have what it takes to be a star.
To start with, TVXQ member Xiah Jun-su brought his twin brother Kim Jun-ho to the program last November. Many fans were surprised to see the talented and handsome brother, which led him to a commercial for a beverage company.
