TV personalities, actresses use star power to persuade fans to lead more eco-friendly lives

With their packed schedules, celebrities undoubtedly have a lot to worry about. But some have managed to find time for an interest entirely unrelated to fashion disasters or TV show shoots - the planet.

Most recently, actress Kim Hyeon-joo, who appeared in the TV dramas "The Partner" and "Boys Over Flowers" last year, spent time with 200 fans at a small club located in Sangsu-dong near Hongik University, in central Seoul. There, she demonstrated how to make eco-friendly shopping bags with a sewing machine.

The 32-year-old actress often says, "You can care for the environment by making eco-bags or placemats instead of using plastic bags and disposable napkins. I believe my hobby makes the world a better place". Kim even wrote a book on her tips for eco-friendly sewing projects such as oven mitts, aprons and napkins.

KATHMANDU ― Korean soap operas and dramas are in high demand in Nepal as they are loaded with love, tragedy and family troubles and touching acting, scripts and plots.

In a country widely dominated by Western and Indian lifestyles, Korean soap operas, dramas, fashion and film are becoming increasingly popular.

Lilisa Shrestha, a student at Shepherd College of Media and Technology, has been adding an extra dimension in her life; Korean drama. She picks up DVDs of Korean dramas and has started to act in the manner depicted on the shows.

"I am hanging out with Korean drama", Shrestha says.

Her affection for Korean dramas was not of her choice. She used to be a regular viewer of Korean films. After watching the drama "My Girl" she started to love Korean dramas and now they have become the part of her life.

"I can't keep track of time while watching Korean dramas", Shrestha said. "I do not take my eyes from the TV until they finish".... |More

Korean actor Lee Byeong-heon at 2009 KBS Acting Awards [KBS]

Top Korean actor Lee Byeong-heon won three awards -- including the grand prize -- at the 2009 KBS Acting Awards, held at KBS Open Hall on December 31.

Lee was awarded the top acting prize of the year for his role in blockbuster drama "IRIS" and also won the Best Couple and Netizens' Choice awards.

"I started acting at KBS", said the actor in his acceptance speech. "When I had just debuted at KBS I heard about the acting awards.. I wondered if I would ever be able to go up on that stage. The very next year, I won the Best New Actor award".

Beauty queen-turned-actress Lee Honey is returning to the spotlight as a gayageum (12-string traditional Korean instrument) player along with her mother and sister for a concert at the National Center for the Traditional Performing Arts on Dec. 25.

Lee's mother, Moon Jae-sook, is a professor of Korean traditional music at Ewha Womans University, and is also a nationally recognized "intangible cultural asset" as a gayageum player.

Lee's sister, Seul-gi, graduated with a degree in Korean traditional music from Seoul National University. She has released three albums since 2005 ― "The Song of String", "In the Green Caf?" and "Blossom".She is a member of the KBS Orchestra of Traditional Korean Music and has received the President's Award from Korea's National Classical Music Institute. The word ‘Partner’ takes a different meaning when it is used in law firm. Partners are the people who survived from the power struggle. They are executives who are on the top of the law firm pyramid.
Enterprises are law firm’s partners. Law firms fight each other to become a partner of business. They struggle to be close to power and to become a slave of money.
There are some lawyers who want be the partners of commoners as well. They are willing to be the spokesperson for the underprivileged.
It is a story about partner; the one who is going to stay by your side and fight together in front of law.

This drama is making us not even know the time till the end….it ends up so quickly…hope it has more episodes….all characters have their own charisma..of course especially the main leads KHJ & LDW:) with their cute way to show their feeling just through their eyes and care…and very touching with the humanity side….and also make us like in the real court…though it doesnt end up like other story with hugging or kissing but holding each others hands surpasses every expectation…really really worth to watch…very enjoyable.

I've just finished this drama. It's so good, not an ordinary drama about love story instead it focused on the case and friendship. Good drama. The casts so perfect. I love Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hyeon-joo, so refreshing to the eye.

We are just in the midst of the series, with 6 more episodes to go. Thankfully, the pacing of the show is very good, with good script and believable characters and situations making the 70 minutes passed by very fast. I could not wait for the next episode to air. Pity they had to put in the side story with the other two minor partners which did not do much for the show at all to carry the story forward at this point in time. Its nice to see both lead actors in a very light hearted show as both were playing leads in very heavy melodramatic roles previously. Lee's last drama, Bittersweet Life, was very angst ridden and heavy though very good. Kim's Pretty Insoon was just as melodramatic. It is good to see Lee Dong Wook now stretching himself in a role that involves some slapstick comedic elements.

Great drama ,all the cases touchs me .lee dong wook and kim hyun joo have great chemistry between each other , the late episodes make me so excited to know what will happen. Lee Dong wook super cute in this series .
