Synopsis

Singer and actor Ryoo Si-won (36) will sing the theme song of a Japanese drama.His albums have ranked high on the Oricon chart upon their release in Japan. The song is "Cafe Wonderland" from the drama "おちゃべり", a new daytime drama airing on Mainichi TV and TBS-TV starting March 1. "Cafe Wonderland" will be released March 11 as Ryu's 9th single title and his first this year, which marks the 5th anniversary of his debut in Japan. Ryoo will also appear at the end of every episode of the 20-episode drama and deliver a 15-second "love" message targeting married women. In the message, he will echo lines Japanese women would love to hear from their husbands such as "The scent of washed clothes is your love" or "I'm sorry I threw my clothes around here and there". Ryoo recorded the theme song on Jan. 30 at Universal Studio Japan in Osaka. He says the song is very bright and the lyrics cheerful. TV star/singer Ryoo Si-won will launch a tour of seven Japanese cities for one month.
After releasing his third album, "Asian Blow", in May, Ryoo will give concerts entitled "Ryoo Si-won's Japanese Live Tour 2006" in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Sendai, Niikata, Hiroshima and Nagoya. The concerts will take place at the International Forum in Tokyo on June 13-14, at Sanbares in Fukuoka on June 19, at the Osaka International Convention Center in Osaka on June 21-22, at the Sendai Sun Plaza in Sendai on June 30, at the Hiroshima Pension Building in Hiroshima on July 3, at the Aichi Art Theater in Nagoya on July 8-9 and at the Budoukan in Tokyo again on July 11-12. Some 70,000 spectators are expected to visit the concert, the largest audience any Korean singer or actor has ever drawn in Japan. Japan's Miyazaki Prefecture is making utmost efforts to benefit from the Korean Wave, or Korean pop culture craze, sweeping the Asian region. The prefecture is trying to attract Korean film and TV program production companies to the region as a way to promote its own tourism industry.
As part of its efforts, the prefecture on the island of Kyushu has decided to establish a film committee that will be in charge of the project, publish a guidebook entitled "Miyazaki LocaNavi"--a word combining "location" and "navigation"--which introduces locations where movies and dramas were shot in the prefecture, and opening a website in Korean and Chinese as well as Japanese. The prefecture government believes that its efforts will achieve the effect of "killing two birds with one stone" because attracting Korean drama and film production companies will eventually increase the number of tourists who want to see filming locations. KBS 2TV Mini series "A Love to Kill" starring Rain and Sin Min-ah was exported beforehand.
Despite of the early stage of airing, KBS2 drama was sold to 8 Asian countries such as China, Taiwan and South East Asia at the fifth Broadcast Worldwide 2005 to be held from Nov. 19 to 22 for four days in COEX, Seoul. Furthermore, "Wedding" to be aired prior to "A Love to Kill" was exported to seven Asian countries. Hallyu, or a Korean wave, fever will go on. The results of sales at this fair, which had main broadcasting and video companies from 32 nationalities, were US$15 million to be increased US$2 million comparing with the preceding year.
