Lee Un-jeong may not be a household name, but everyone knows Lee Sa-bi. The two are in fact the same person, but the glamour model decided to return to the name she was born with to make the leap from scantily clad Playboy photographs into acting. She has already been a part of five productions including dramas and movies. The Chosun Ilbo got a glimpse into the world of Lee Un-jeong.


Not long ago you released a diet video. Do you enjoy yoga?

Of course. On days when I don't have much going on, I can spend two or three hours doing it. People who don't know think it's at the same level as stretching or warm-ups, but if they really give it a try they will see just how hard an exercise it is.

We heard that you were in Thailand for a shoot; did anything fun happen?

I look a little bit Thai myself. Maybe that's why I had a few embarrassing moments when the locals thought that I was Thai and would come up to me speaking in Thai. It's a fun memory.

Parody sinks its teeth into cop movies

Na Do-yeol (Kim Soo-ro) is a crooked cop who became a vampire after being bitten by a monstrous mosquito from a Transylvanian castle, brought by the caring people at DHL.
His Dracula instinct boils up whenever he sees a woman's flesh in a closed space. His teeth sharpen when he is stuck in an elevator with a girl wearing a miniskirt. He stares at pictures of naked girls on digital broadcasts and his legs move as fast as a cheetah's when he runs out to fight a group of mobster thugs.
"Vampire Cop Ricky" is something of a hybrid, mixing the superhero genre with comedy, action, romance and horror. But most of all, the film is a vibrant parody, deflating Hollywood superhero films through its deft use of absurdity and overacting that was popular in Korean comic gangster flicks during the late '90s.
The film brims with ideas, most of which are fun and light forms of parody.

'The Promise' Mixed With Asian Cultures

Renowned Chinese director Chen Kaige emphasizes that his new epic fantasy "The Promise" is an "Asian" film showing the power of Asian culture to the world.

"The real meaning of being an Asian director is we can put the power of culture from all Asian countries together and show everything people can possibly imagine", Chen said Thursday during a news conference at Shilla Hotel in Seoul.

The director, well known for his 1993 film "Farewell My Concubine", also explained that the film is not just a commercial film but contains deep and profound Asian values on life.

"It shows our attitude, from the Asian point of view, toward life _ magnificent but short. And what I also wanted to talk about is the freedom of heart", Chen said.

The film revolves around three men falling in love with a beautiful girl destined to lose her lovers in exchange for wealth and fame. The characters fight for their love and against their pre-determined fates.

Korean actor Jang Dong-gun to join hands with Amuse Group

As Korean actor Jang Dong-gun (33) joins hands with Amuse Group, Japan's famous all-around entertainment enterprise, it is being keenly watched as to whether he might be settled as a frontrunner of Hanryu (Korean Wave) in Japan.

Star M. Entertainment, to which Jang belonged, said that Jang Dong-gun entered an agreement with Amuse Group regarding his management within Japan recently.

An official involved in Jang's agreement at Star M. explained that Jang Dong-gun is the first that Korean actors have concluded a formal agreement with Japan's well-known entertainment firm.

Amuse is Japan's all-round entertainment enterprise, which is well known to home movie manias too by introducing Korean movies such as ' JSA - Joint Security Area, 'Silmido', 'Shiri' etc. to Japan.
