  • Hwang Jeong-min's Music Picks

    2010/11/10, Source,
Actor Hwang Jeong-min [10 Asia] If you asked what actor Hwang Jeong-min's biggest concern is, he would answer: “I want to be able to act better". This may be an incomprehendable to some actors whose acting need some real improvement, the ones who have issues such as not even able to pronounce their lines properly. After all, this was the man who appeared as the charismatic boss of a gang in the film “A Bittersweet Life" (2005), the same guy who won rich praise from critics and viewers with his acting in film “You are my Sunshine" (2005) which he literally put his soul and might into. And that is how he came to say the famous line “I merely laid a spoon on the table. [He credited his win as best actor for his role in 'You are my Sunshine' to the film's director and crew.])” at the Daejong Film Awards -- yet that very man is worried about his acting right now,...More

  • [PIFF] Interview - Director Kim Jee-woon (Part 2)

    2010/10/22, Source,
Director Kim Jee-woon [Chae Ki-won/10Asia] 10: Then what were Soo-hyun's tears in the end about? Pity for himself for having become the devil? Kim Jee-woon: Probably several things. The pleasure over having completed his revenge as well as a sense of shame and self-destructedness from thoughts like 'Why did I become this? Why did such a life have to come upon me?' The tears could have come from pity or the emptiness that comes from the end of a tough revenge. 10: Opposite from the dejected feeling that such revenge gave, your unique sense of humor in particular stood out in “I Saw the Devil.” To the extent that it seems foreign. For example, when Gyeong-cheol runs into soldiers or only the handle of the door gets pulled out when Tae-joo tries to pull out the awl that's stuck in his hand. Your sense of humor is displayed in the movie to the extent that one could call you stubborn. (laugh) Kim Jee-woon:,...More

his is a good movie although it's quite violent! I guess I got accustomed to seeing wholesome K-dramas lately! LBH is a great actor & I started following his projects from then on!

Wow! A very sadistic yet interesting movie. Well, Lee Byeong Heon plays totally great. I the scene he comes out from the mud. Brilliant! And yeah, it has a tragical ending.
