A sequel of the 1999 comedy "Attack the Gas Station!" (Jooyooso Seubgyeoksageon) is planned to enter cinemas in its tenth anniversary year. Like the original, the sequel will also be in the hands of director KIM Sang-jin. It was announced that the scenario is halfway finished. Actors have not been cast yet.
"Attack the Gas Station!" chronicles the take over of a gas station by a young group of society's outsiders. Its cast included LEE Seong-jae ("Daisy"), KIM Soo-ro ("Vampire Cop Ricky") and LEE Yo-won ("May 18"/Hwaryohan Hyooga).
KIM also directed the comedies "Kick the Moon" (Silla-uiDalbab) and "Ghost House" (Gwisini Sanda). KIM started out as a assistant director on KANG Woo-seok's classic comedy "Two Cops".

Top-rated actor Yoo Ji-tae has a strong presence in major local films such as "Attack the Gas Station", "Ditto" and is probably best known for his role as an antagonist in Director Park Chan-wook's "Old Boy".
But he doesn't seem to be satisfied with commercial success only. He is diving into a new sphere to create adventurous theatrical works that can often be unprofitable.
The 31-year-old actor, who is also head of Yoo Movie, a production firm for independent film and theater, will star in a new play, "Welcome to Ghost House".
The play will go to the stage at Cecil Theater in central Seoul, on April 10 and run until May 27.
The play's draft is Yoo's brainchild, which developed from his own ideas motivated by his mother. Playwright Park Soo-jin wrote the script based on Yoo's draft and director Lee Ji-na will direct it.

Yoo Ji-tae, a rising star in Korea's film and entertainment industry, returns to the stage with the experimental theatrical piece, "Welcome to Ghost House", next month. The drama, Yoo's second theatrical creation, is scheduled to hit the stage at Cecile Theater from April 10 to May 27.
The 31-year-old actor and film producer wannabe said that he had chosen to create another theatrical piece to remain closer to audiences.
"I can call myself a theater novice although I have already made myself known through 16 films so far. Theatrical drama, for me, is a chance to show my world and my conceptualized thoughts (directly) to audiences", said Yoo at a news conference held in Jeongdong, central Seoul, yesterday.
Yoo told reporters that the drama can be seen as an experimental piece, although he and his crew try to deliver an everlasting theme: the undetectable bond between a mother and a daughter.

Actress Jang Seo-hee has been invited as a VIP guest to the Shanghai Korean Film Festival slated for October 1 in China.
Chang will participate in all major events of the festival, including a festival eve party and the opening and closing ceremonies.
Chang has received a special invitation to the festival as her popularity soared in China for her roles in the movies "Ghost House" and "My Captain Mr. Underground" as well as the TV drama "Miss Mermaid".
Organized by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television, the festival is sponsored by China's influential institutions, including the Shanghai municipal government, attesting to the popularity of Korean films and actors in China.
