Despite having been an established actress in her native South Korea for almost 10 years, Kim Yoon-jin's star is still on the rise. Her career in Korea started out with parts in TV dramas and quickly advanced into film with her debut in the groundbreaking Korean film "Shiri" (1999). It was her role in this blockbuster that earned her star status and she was cast in other Korean films such as "The Gingko Bed" (2000), "Iron Palm" (2002), and "Diary of June" (2005).
In 2004, she scored the role that would allow her to break through on the Hollywood scene – the character Kwon Sunhwa on the hit TV series Lost. Kim plays a Korean woman whose characteristics defy those of conventional stereotypes typically attributed to Korean women. The 30th Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) closed its 10-day run July 28th with director KIM Tai-sik picking up one of the events main awards. The Emerging Director in Narrative Feature Award was given to KIM for his feature debut "Driving With My Wife's Lover". The prize honors the best narrative feature film by a first or second-time narrative feature filmmaker.
KIM's road movie has traveled many miles. After its' festival launch and world premier at the Pusan International Film Festival last year, it went on to screen at top festivals around the world including the Berlinale, Buenos Aires, Sundance and Rotterdam. KIM also won the Best Director Award at Monaco's International Emerging Talent Film Festival, last May.

After a stand-out premiere at the 11th Pusan International Film Festival last fall, KIM Tae-sik's observational comedy "Driving With My Wife's Lover" has traveled around the world, screening at top festivals such as the Berlinale, Sundance and Rotterdam. Now it is scheduled to have its local release this month via CJ Entertainment.
The tale of a cuckolded husband seeking revenge but finding friendship is the feature debut by KIM, who also co-scripted the film. In the black-comedy, small-town shop owner Tae-han learns that his wife is having an affair with Joong-sik, a Seoul taxi-driver. Intending to violently confront him, Tae-han goes to Seoul and hails Joog-sik's cab, asking for a long-distance trip back to his small town. From here on a tense, comedic road trip full of insightful dialogue and unexpected happenings brings KIM to better understanding of his wife and Joong-sik.

| Kim Yoon-jin Set to Star in Upcoming Hollywood Film (Source) |

Kim Yun-jin, a local actress currently working in the United States, has been cast to star alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the upcoming Hollywood film "Georgia Heat."
Kim will play a woman who falls in love with an American and moves to the U.S., according to Yonhap News Agency. In order to play an immigrant who resides in the American South, the actress is planning to learn how to speak in a southern accent, Kim's manager Park Jung-hyok told Yonhap.
"The story is about two men who meet a woman who is experiencing the hardships of immigrating to a new country," Park said.
It will be the first time for Kim to act in an American film. Kim has starred in various local films, including "Shiri" and "Iron Palm." She is currently part of the cast for "Lost," a popular American television drama about a group of people stranded on a mysterious island after a plane crash. The drama will air locally on KBS 2 beginning Dec. 25.
