Synopsis
It's a love story between the disobedient student Kang-uk and his teacher Yul-ju set in a high school in Chuncheon.
Before meeting Kang-uk, Yul-ju has been dating Tae-hyeon, a public prosecutor. But over time Yul-ju and Kang-uk fall deeply in love with each other despite social prejudices, the age gap and the teacher-student relation. One day, Yul-ju accidentally kills Kang-uk's classmate who intentionally harasses Kang-uk. But due to narcolepsy, Yul-ju doesn't remember what has happened, as she falls asleep during the incident. To protect her, Kang-uk goes to jail in place of Yul-ju.
Five years later, when Kang-uk is released from prison, he meets with Yul-ju again, but Yul-ju is engaged to Tae-hyeon. Learning what sacrifice he has made for her, Yul-ju wants to return to Kang-uk, but this time Kang-uk is not alone -- Ja-kyung, his former classmate and currently a radio program host, is beside him. The circumstances hamper Yul-ju from loving Kang-uk, but she is desperate to help him recover the lost five years and become a top-notch cook.

In the last few years, Korean films, TV dramas and pop music have become immensely popular abroad, a phenomenon known as the Korean Wave. This is the 26th in a series of essays by a select group of scholars and journalists looking at the spread of Korean pop culture in Southeast Asian countries and beyond. - Ed.
The term "Korean Wave" or "Hallyu" was initially coined in China to describe a newfound interest in Korean pop culture in China in the late 1990s. At the center of it all was the now-defunct boy band H.O.T. (High-five of Teenagers), two of whose albums were exported to China in 1998.
Many people underestimate the strategic side of the iconic band's success in China, though, assuming that the quintet was simply lucky to become the first Korean pop musicians to be active in China, at a time when the country's music scene was not very well developed.
Until last year, Ahn Chil-hyun - lead singer of the band, and better known by his stage name, Kang Ta - was one of them.

Entertainment in 2007 was all about versatility. Fans could watch news anchors dance and sing, while some singers created their own shows and even starred in movies. Among these talented and ambitious celebrities, former G.O.D. members are leading the way toward true multi-entertainment.
Park Joon-hyung, Son Ho-young, Yoon Kye-sang, Danny Ahn and Kim Tae-wu are all former members of the hit five-member pop group formed in 1999 by producer and singer Park Jin-young (also known as JYP), and released hits "To My Mother" and "Lie". The group announced their withdrawal in 2004. While lead singer Kim Tae-woo is serving in the military, the other members have gone a long way from their original pop career.
Park, also known as Joon Park in the United States and former leader of the group, has literally crossed borders with his acting. He has already filmed a role in "Speed Racer", directed by the Wachowski brothers (The Matrix), as a Yakuza racer who co...| More

The remaining 4,000 tickets were sold out soon afterward.

The Japanese media showed great interest in Hyun, with The Mainichi Daily News calling him "a next-generation hallyu star".
The actor's popularity in Japan is expected to soar once "The Snow Queen" goes on the air there on May 10 via TV Tokyo.

Recent movies out in theaters probably left you dumbfounded for a couple of good reasons. You gaped at Kwon Oh-joong's sleek kung fu moves. (Wasn't he the chubby dude in that silly sit-com about a gynecologist's family?) Your eyes opened wide when you found out Kim Ah-joong can sing. (She has a goddess-like figure and now she even sings?)
However stupefied, or scornful, you are, kudos to our celebrities who refuse to use understudies. But more kudos go out to the trainers who stayed behind the scenes coaching stars throughout the filming. Movieweek, a JoongAng film weekly, met with these hidden stars of recent films and the hidden-stars-to-be of blockbusters coming to theaters.
Kung fu master
Actor Kwon O-joong depended on Park Chan-dae, a kung fu master, for more than three months as he practiced his martial arts moves prior to the filming of the "Three Kims".
For up to five hours a day, five days a week, Mr. Park stayed with Kwon, transforming him into the heroic kung fu coach ...| More
