"I wanted to stay free of any thoughts when filming 'The Executioner'", said Yoon Kye-sang, who is known for his hard work in Chungmuro. Yoon admits that he is hard on himself because he wanted to receive recognition for his acting skills. He said, "I wanted people to recognize me as an actor".
To Yoon, being known only as a former member of the idol boy band G.O.D. is great pressure. That is also the reason he rarely appeared on variety shows. He wanted to be known as an actor, not as an entertainer.
Yoon debuted on the big screen in 2004 in Byeon Yeong-joo's movie "Flying Boys". It has already been six years since his debut. Yoon says he has walked a difficult road because of young passion.

Actress KIM Ha-neul has said that she is excited about trying her hand at playing an action character. She has been cast in the upcoming film "My Girlfriend is an Agent".
The spy comedy is directed by SIN Tae-ra and the male lead is played by KANG Ji-hwan. The story is about two secret agents who fall in love while hiding their profession from each other. The film is scheduled for a 2009 release.
KIM Ha-neul was in cinemas earlier this year with the melodrama "Lovers of 6 Years" and starred in the popular comedy "My Tutor Friend" alongside KWON Sang-woo. KANG Ji-hwan has ample experience with action scenes after his fight scenes with SO Ji-sub in "Rough Cut". SIN Tae-ra directed last year's praised "Black House".

The crowds were out in force at the four-day promotional screening of "M" (2007), starring Kang Dong-won, late last month in Japan.
M, directed by Lee Myeong-se, had been invited to the Hallyu Cinema Festival. Some 4,000 Japanese fans of the Korean actor attended the screening.
In the psychodrama, Kang stars as Min-woo, a writer who suffers from strange nightmares. Entertainment company Avex will release a Japanese version of M on Dec. 19.
The 17 Korean films screened during the Hallyu festival, including "Lovers of 6 Years", "The Show Must Go On" and "A Love", are on a three-month relay screening in 40 movie theaters in Japan.

Two genres - the melodrama and the romantic comedy - used to do very well at the box office.
"200 Pounds Beauty" is a case in point. It deals with plastic surgery, but it is deeply rooted in the romantic comedy tradition in which love ultimately conquers all.
But Korean theaters in recent months have had few, if any, offerings that stir people to talk about the triumph of romance. The summer lineup continues the paucity of romantic flicks.
What happened?
Last week, "Public Enemy Returns", directed by Kang Woo-seok, rose to the No. 1 slot, offering a much-anticipated reprieve to the protracted slump in the local film industry. But the film, starring Seol Kyeong-gu and Jeong Jin-yeong, does not have any elements that can be categorized as romantic.
"Crossing", a film about North Korean defectors which is also getting a lot of attention, is about to hit theaters this week, but there is no room in that story for romance.
