Top stars Lee Hyo-lee and Lee Dong-geon will be visiting Japan next month to promote their SBS one act play drama "If in Love... Like Them".
A well-known website in Japan, Excite Japan, will celebrate the opening of the new Korean entertainment specialty site called "Hanryu Now!" which opened on the 15th. In honor of the opening, it will broadcast on June 17th and 24th through the Fuji TV channel 721 the drama "If in Love... Like Them". There will be a large-scale promotion event on June 4th at Studio Coast in Tokyo.
The 130 minute one act drama, "If in Love... Like Them", is divided into four parts of 45 minutes each, and will broadcast two episodes per day with Japanese subtitles. It is planned to air on the 18th and the 25th.

A record 11 Korean features will be shown in the official selection of this years 9th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) to take place June 17th to the 25th. Among them PARK Jin-pyo's 2005 film You Are My Sunshine will run in the official competition section for the Jin Jue Award. Another Korean film, Jo Chang-ho's The Peter Pan Formula has been selected as a candidate for the Asian New Talent Award.
Two Korean directors KWAK Gyeong-Taek ("Friend", "Typhoon") and BONG Joon-ho ("The Host", "Memories of Murder") have been invited to sit on the Jin Jue Award jury which will this year be presided over by French director Luc Besson. Other directors on the jury include Stanly Kwan and Gabriella Salvatores.

Hallyu star Lee Dong-geon captivated the hearts of some 3,000 Japanese fans at the "Hallyu Star Meeting", which was held Dec. 5 at the Nakano Plaza Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
At the event, Lee also unveiled his first photo album, which will hit Japanese stores Dec. 20. Photographed by the famous Japanese photographer Kujirai Yatsuoka, the album features natural images of Lee against the scenic backdrops of France, the U.K. and Switzerland -- the filming locations of Lee's latest TV drama "Lovers in Paris". The 112-page album also includes the making-of DVD, a poster and a postcard.
The actor's popularity in Japan has soared since the series "Lovers in Paris" and "Crystal Shoes" aired in that country. The promotion of the movie "My boyfriend is type-B", which stars Lee and is to open in Japan next January, also helped add to his recent popularity.

Hallyu fever in Japan is switching from drama to screen. Korean movies are making all sorts of plentiful records and leading the second heyday of Hallyu.
Korean movies boom begun with "April Snow" (Director Heo Jin-ho, Production Blue Storm) is maintained to "A Moment To Remember" (Director Lee Jae-han, Production Sidus Pictures) and "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance" (Director Park Chan-wook, Production Moho Film) and is creating a sensation.
Two Korean movies entitled "Blue Sky" will be screening at the similar time.
Followed by "Mutt Boy" starring Jeong Woo-seong and Kim Kab-soo (Director Kwak Gyeong-taek, Production Jininsa Film) met first the fans from Nov. 12. Korean movies produced in the 1980s and '90s will be screened at the 18th Tokyo International Film Festival to be held Oct. 22-30 in Japan.
According to the Korean Film Council on Sept. 21, the movies to be screened at this year's Tokyo festival are "Colors Of The Rainy Day", one of the early works of director Kwak Jae-yong, who also produced the recent movie "Windstruck"; "Trio", the early work of director Park Chan-wook; and "Do As You Like", directed by Oh Seung-keun and planned by Cha Seung-jae, the CEO of Sidus FNH.
The screening of Korean movies from an earlier period at an overseas film festival is unprecedented. They will be shown in the "Winds of Asia" section.
