Dark Horse Korean Hit at the Gate in the U.S.
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 9, 2012) – CJ Entertainment America is launching the moody Korean thriller "Helpless" on April 20, 2012 as an exclusive engagement for Los Angeles at the CGV Cinemas, with national dates expected for early May. The film was a critical darling and unexpected box office champion for two consecutive weeks when it was released in Korea earlier this year.
- Russell Edwards, Variety
"...The film never ceases to compel. As the layers of deceit are peeled back, Byeon seems in complete command of her material. A key demonstration of her narrative dexterity is the way she flaunts an audacious 'Chinatown'-like clue to the missing woman's whereabouts without pre-empting the climax",...More
User Review - God's Quiz Season One 2011/12/03,
Some things to know about my review:
- My reviews are subjective and my opinions based on my own general likes and dislikes, unclouded by obsessions.
- They usually don't have major or ending spoilers, but if they do, they will come with a warning.
- If I like a movie enough to write about it, I write a lot about it. My reviews are huge.
- I don't take myself too seriously so my reviews reflect that. It's light reading. A lot of it, but light.
As I mention on my blog version about this, "God's Quiz" is a crime series which spanned two seasons and aired on the cable channel OCN. The one airing "Vampire Prosecutor" at the time this is written.

His supervisor and partner in cri- I mean solving crime is talented and professional detective Kyung Hee (played by Yoon Joo-hee who can recently be seen in "Ojak Brothers"). Each episode consists of a different plot and crime, while there is still a main plot to this,...More
[INTERVIEW and PHOTOS] Actress Jeong So-min 2010/06/22, Source, Interview with actress Jeong So-min
Korean actress Jeong So-min [Chae Ki-won/10Asia]
My name is Jeong So-min. My friends and I had a contest to pick out my stage name but I myself chose the name. I was born on March 16, 1989. I am a junior at the Korea National University of Arts majoring in acting but I'm currently taking a semester off. My family consists of my mom, dad and my little brother who is a senior in high school. I get into fights with my brother but they don't last for more than five minutes. We hang out a lot because I really like him and I'm glad he doesn't think I'm annoying. (laugh) I learned ballet from elementary school until middle school. I had to quit because my parents were against it and I started to learn Korean traditional dance when I was in high school. If I continued to dance I probably would have done work relating to visiting other countries to spread the Korean traditional dance,...More
