By Lee Hyo-wonStaff Reporter Romantic comedies come in all forms, starring out-of-ordinary heroines like Drew Barrymore in "50 First Dates" (2004), who suffers from short-term memory loss; and Uma Thurman, an estranged super-powered woman in "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" (2006). Likewise, "2 Faces of My Girlfriend" takes the classic genre to a whole new level featuring a character with a severe case of multiple personality disorder. Gu-chang (Bong Tae-gyu) leads a tragic existence. The seventh-year college student constantly fails job interviews and lives off of an allowance from his divorced sister while taking money from his little nephew. To make matters worse, the almost 30-year-old virgin has never had a girlfriend, let alone experienced his first kiss. In Korean, Gu-chang is a homonym for the word meaning "a sore in the mouth". But springtime finally seems to have arrived for Gu-chang, defrosting the stark winters of his barren love life, when he meets the sweet and innocen...| More
Bong Tae-Gyu and Jeong Ryeo-Won have been cast for the main roles in "2 Faces of My Girlfriend" (Director: Lee Seok-Hoon, Production: Hwain Works).
"2 Faces of My Girlfriend" is a romantic comedy film about Guchang, a naive and funny guy, who repeatedly crosses paths with Ani, a girl with multiple personalities. Bong will play Guchang to showcase not only his comic talents but also his melodramatic acting. On the other hand, this is Jeong's debut film, where she will play in a very interesting role. "2 Faces of My Girlfriend" is the second film of Director Lee Seok-Hoon after his debut film "See You After School", which also starred Bong. Hello, Ani will begin production in February 2007 and is set for a theater release in late July. The Source : Koreacontent News Team...| More
By Kim Tae-jongStaff Reporter At first glance, the combination of Baek Yoon-sik and Bong Tae-gyu in the new comedy film "How the Lack of Love Affects Two Men" (Aejonggyolpibi Tu Namjaege Michinun Yonghyang) appeals to those who have enjoyed the actors' wacky yet funny characters in previous films. It was hilarious to see Baek play a hermit with super martial art skills and his own profound philosophy of life in "The Art of Fighting" and a traditional Korean wrestling coach in "Like a Virgin". Bong has also successfully created interesting roles such as a fainthearted playboy in "When Romance Meets Destiny" and a bullied student in "See You After School". But what is missing from their new film is a story for them to tell and develop to show off their charms. The film's storyline is so simple _ a father and his son fight over a sexy woman who moves into the room downstairs in their house, but the film totally relies on the two actors and seems to expect them to make the si...| More

Contributing Writer UDINE, Italy ㅡ With 13 recent films mostly unreeled in their international and European premiere, Korean cinema is once again under media spotlight at the Far East Film Festival (FEFF) taking place in Udine, a North East Italian city. Now in its eighth edition, the fast-growing event claims primacy among Western film festivals concerned with Asian cinema. Certainly a one-of-a-kind format among film festivals that commonly tend to focus on art-movies, FEFF proves the global appeal of mainstream Asian productions, as press officials stress record-breaking figures in international accredited press and report screenings continuously playing to full capacity. Among the seventy films from East Asia blending into the enticing FEFF menu, the Korean ones retain a prominent spot indeed, as both opening and closing soirees happen to showcase Chungmuro productions. On Friday, April 21, Han Jae-rim's unflinching debut "Rules of Dating (Yonaeui ...| More
